Why is there NO Tournament this weekend?

Slim pickens to watch this weekend. The LPGA is off because of the trip to France. Why is the PGA Tour taking this weekend off? It can't be because of the start of the NFL season, right?

Web.com is really the only show in town this week. Pretty good tournament with the change in PGA Tour qualifying this year....

PGA Tour doesn't want to compete with the opening day of NFL, not good for television ratings.  After watching Geno toss some pick sixes to Revis Island I'll be excited to watch golf next week.

Yeah, a great round of golf but still tight at the top. Dubuisson had 2 eagles in his round. Sunday should be exciting. Don't rule Thomas Bjorn out.

Do you guys get European Tour golf live in the States?

The last PGA tourney first round started on a Friday not Thursday, ended on Labor day....So the week would be a bit short for everyone to travel to the next course...so they get a few days off.
