My brother used to go by the nickname Hellfire when he played online games, so I took that and combined it with my surname, Kelly, to come up with Kellfire which is a name I primarily began using to play Counter-Strike but I use it on some fora now as well.

I stole mine from a Def Leppard song... I heard the song, and thought it was the most rediculous lyrics I've ever heard... I started saying it singing it over and over at inappropriate times around all of my friends... and it just kind of stuck.

Everyone admires a 315 yard drive... but it's the full swing flop shot from 17 yards out over a greenside bunker onto a downhill slope that lands softer than a butterfly with sunburnt feet and nuzzles up to the pin that I love.

When my buddy or I have a shot like that we will finish out the whole and then have a 'flop off' to see who can land it closer.

oh and 218... my b-day 2/18

Behindthedish36 - it is an old school term for catching in baseball. "Green, your behind the dish today with Sanders". My HS nickname was Dish, b/c I was always behind the plate, and has stuck through college to now. 36 has been my only baseball number i have worn. Little league through High school, college, and now.

only other nicknames i have are "Sarge" (senior nco in the US Army) or "Steel" ( another Army nick, I am a forward observer in artillery)

I used to play volleyball in college for my university team, and "Jump High, Hit Hard" is the advice our coach would give us before a big match.

This saying has helped me in any challenging situation (especially with my golf game), because our coach was basically saying you practiced months for this moment, and you are ready; now all you have to remember is jump high hit hard.

So whenever I am playing golf, and my mind gets a little cluttered, this is the saying I use to simplify my game. I suppose "Grip it and rip it" would serve the same end, but to each his own.
"There is no miracle tip. Fix your swing."

When my grandfather was teaching me the game, every time I hit a bad shot he would tell me I suffered from loft. One day I asked if me hitting the ball high was really hurting my game. And he replied no but your
"Lack of *bleeping* talent" is thus the loft he meant...He was a supportive old timer
