Downloading at the transition

I've started to think about goals for my indoor practice this winter. One thing that I am curious about is what I've heard called "downloading". This happens when, after you start your downswing, the angle b/w the left arm and the club shaft decreases. This, in theory, increases lag and generally helps to eliminate an early release. Based on video, I do not "download" much (I don't cast right away, but I also don 't download). Has anyone worked on this? If so, was it fruitful? What feels did you concentrate on in working on it? I monkeyed around with trying to download while hitting into my indoor net. I was able to increase my club head speed by about 7 mph in a very short period of time. While the strikes felt solid, I have no idea what the ball flight may have been as my net is just a few feet in front of me...

Thanks for the response and links, Mvmac. I've seen those before and can relate to the elbow one much better than the lag link. I do a pretty good job with my elbows. When I try to get my hands low, like the lag video shows, I've had horrible results. It feels like I am holding my wrists back and the ultimate result is a mighty push/slice (I normally draw the ball) or (gulp) a shank. What has worked for me in practice, though, is having an extra wrist bend while I start my downswing and then forgetting about what my arms and wrists do after that (if that makes any sense). Basically, having soft wrists at the top that are forced to cock more with the initial thrust of the downswing. Is this an acceptable feel or something that could lead to problems?
