I think patience qualifies as mental game.

Playing golf and babysitting my kids while trying to play golf are two different things.

Unless you’re saying I need to practice babysitting for when I meet up with you in Sand Valley?

More of the same stuff today. Hit it solidly. Extended the left knee earlier in these swings.

Finally got out to try my clubs on TM. Going to repost pictures from my TM session with my old clubs for easy comparison. PW: MP4 JPX910F 6i: MP4 JPX910

Thanks. And thank you for taking the time to work with me. The really hard work is the road ahead... You, too, John. I definitely needed five full days on the swing changes, but I also got

Sure, practice babysitting all you want but fair warning - you can't train/practice/prepare for what I will put through whoever will play a round with me at SV.

Anyway, back to topic - you have a great swing!..😄

Note to self: firmer grip on short game shots. Something I figured out during my short game session at Chautauqua last year and apparently forgot.

Current state of swing - pretty good. Still working the same stuff, backswing slow and short with the weight left. Key element I need to add in is keeping the right elbow in front of me. I tend to pull it inside at the takeaway.

Current state of game - nonexistent. Literally. I can’t get a decent tee time anymore. I haven’t played in two weeks.

I went for a club fitting for a new 3W and hybrid last weekend. The fitter was honest with me and said he’d have trouble fitting my swing, so he comped the session and pointed me in the direction of Club Champion. I have that fitting on Saturday. He did suggest I look into a 4W 7W combo instead of what I play now which is 3W 2H.

Nice swing

Ditto.  Bill, you've got a scratch handicap swing but a sandbagger's index.  😄

That I can’t even play to. It’s a borderline vanity cap at this point.

Change in transition feel. Instead of right knee bend, it’s sit left. Pretty much as if I got up from a bar stool to my right and immediately wanted to sit back down on it again.

Went with this because I’m getting the right elbow behind me a little in transition and hitting blocks and pulls (no clubface control), and I’m tipping the club head under plane a bit. This move delays the hip rotation slightly so that my arms sync up better.

Out here in WA state I don't know that feeling anymore.  All the barstools have been hidden away for over a year...

I have stools in my kitchen. It’s how I came up with the description of how the move feels.

I think I’m onto something with this feel. I only hit two bad pulls all today (I hit another one but it was just a poor swing), but the biggest sign I’m on the right track is that I hit my 3W well each time I hit it. One resulted in a lost ball, but it turned out I was lined up right the whole time.

Didn’t hit any big draws that weren’t pulled, so the path was better.

    • Day 518: Did some backswing drills working on priority piece with Live View Pro camera. Hit some foam balls outside,  slow speed for a few 10-ball sets with rehearsals between, and then close to full speed for the last 10.
    • Interesting.  I don't need them during a round, so if it lasts a few minutes, and that's enough to offload the rounds, that's good enough for me.  I wish they'd keep the Windows app working, I don't understand why they discontinued it.
    • Day 84.   Real balls today!  I hit a dozen balls this evening, slow backswing slow through, focusing on the chest down head back parts from last time.  After the first, I made good contact, so I think that's a good sign.
    • Day 506 - May 17, 2021 Hit balls (including one ball into the parking lot) from the back of the range at Whispering Woods today. Didn't quite have the same feel as the other day, but… it's close.
    • So I was helping my daughter out at the back of the range today. I had chipped literally two 8-irons, then wanted her to take a break, so I said “watch this in case I duck hook it onto the practice green” (short game). I’m on the back of the range, hitting toward the mats that are 300 yards away. I hit it, a high seed, and… it hits by the mats (between two people, about six mats apart) and bounces into the parking lot. It’s a gravel parking lot, the ball didn’t go very far. But, ooooookay. So, that’s enough of that. My daughter was both in awe and frightened that I may have dented someone’s Honda. A student takes his Mevo out on the course to measure shots hit out there, and he said he measured my first tee shot a few days ago at 175 ball speed and 117.x (don’t remember the decimal value) clubhead speed. He bought a set of SuperSpeed sticks off eBay later that day. Wheeeeee.
