One of the nice things about the Internet is that nobody has to know who you are. You can pop in, post your thoughts, and leave, all in relative obscurity.

One of the bad things about the Internet is that nobody has to know who you are. You can pop in, post your thoughts, and leave, all in relative obscurity.

I recently asked several of our Forum Leaders and Supporters to take the small step of adding at least their first name to their signatures.

I'd like to ask everyone else to do that as well (if you're not sure when you get a signature, read: ). Just add your first name to your signature. It likely won't really identify you to anyone, but it will let people know that there's a real person named Steve or Tony or Ivan or Ulas on the other end of the discussion. It'll let people address you by your name rather than "golfer12683" or whatever you've chosen as your username. It'll bring a bit of humanity to the discussion.

So, please consider adding your first name to your signature, and thank you.

I like this. I always prefer addressing people by their names instead of their usernames. I already made it easy for everybody else...

I agree. I'm just trying to figure out if I should use Eldrick or Tiger............

Done, I think I've signed ~Tom B. on many of my posts already anyway.

My 3 sisters & 2 Bros. in laws still call me Thomas, which is fine,

But "Tommy" is like Nails on a Chalkboard to me.

It seems I have many names but my real name is Mike.

My Boy Scouts call me Mr Mike, not sure why it has been this way for the past 11 years. Never liked being call by my last name!

My son calls me Daddy O

My wife has many names for me, but I am sure you all can figure that one out. :censored:

hello everyone , I'm John and i just registered so the thing with the signature might last a little while. I'm a newbie here as you can see and also on the tee, got recently pulled in by my brother in law, now i'm not sure if its because of the thrill of playing golf or to get away from my sister LOL, long story short its cool to be here where i can read many many useful threads and learn every day about golf and hopefully that will improve my game. and thank you all in advance for having the patience with me as a beginner :D

Hello everyone, my name is Bill. I spend my summers at Mable Lake in British Columbia golfing & boating. I also golf around Calgary, Phoenix & Palm Springs.

The sandtrap is where I need to go to find rules I’m unfamiliar with.
