~~A big congratulations goes out to Lexi Thompson for winning last week's Loreno Ochoa Invitational. It was Lexi's second victory in her last four starts. At the age of nineteen, Lexi has now joined those few elite players on the LPGA who will be making a run at becoming #1 in 2014. This week the LPGA moves to Naples, Florida for the CME Group Titleholders. This is the final tournament of the 2013 season.

Here are the key details:

This will be our first opportunity to see Kydia Ko endorse the winner's check as this is her first 'pro' tourney. Will she be a 'multi-millionaire' before age 18 too? GOKO!

I like how the LPGA groups their stars together in the same pairings. Awesome that Pettersen, Stacy Lewis, and Inbee Park are together as well as Jessica Korda, Lydia Ko, and Michelle Wie. This adds intrigue.

So Crim, how's the new baby?  U gettin' any sleep at night?

He's good! and...barely. I have new hours at work that start at 6am (I'm usually a night owl) so I'm getting about 4 hours a sleep a night. Huge change.

I just made a thread of his 1st month.

I looked at some of the stats for the players in this tourney and was surprised at some of the short driving averages, like 235 after 2 rounds. The best i saw was 265 or so. But what i did not find was how these numbers were calculated. Mostly, how many drives on each day to make the average. Anyone know?

They just take the average drive on two par 5 holes. If you hit a tree on one of them, it will severely lower your average.

Since the PPGA site does not tell us what course this tourney is played on, nor any details of the length of the course, does anyone know?  Tiburon resort offers 2 courses and 4 sets of tees for each course, so that's a possible 8.  Distances for these 8 tee boxes range from 7200 yrds to 5500 yrds.

As far as driving averages, if on those 2 par 5s, if both drives go into the rough, the driving average is zero. Or is the rough OK?

Natalie Gulbis has her A game today.
