The book isn't about the golf swing. Very, very little of Lowest Score Wins is about the golf swing. I don't know what "the literal path" stuff means. What path? If your approach varies from what I teach, your approach is… not good. I don't know how to say that very well, but 5 Simple Keys® are "right" because they're what all the best players do. I suspect your approach is a good one, and thus, it aligns with my approach and "what I'm trying to teach here" as well. It's tough to be a 9 or a 6 without applying the Keys. Also, again, Lowest Score Wins is NOT a book about the golf swing or technique. You've completely missed the boat on that if you think that's what it's about. You're missing out. You are almost the type of person who would benefit most from Lowest Score Wins. Buy today and it'll ship tomorrow.

Really? Ok, I think I will. I read all this technical stuff here and just assumed it's from the book. I have read the 5 keys and agree with them but haven't dug any deeper into them. When I say I don't follow the literal path I mean I'm a feel guy and have to work things out that way. I assumed also your book preaches a specific regimen on how to reach goals, etc., and I probably don't follow that methodology. I do think I'll buy it, I guess there's a link here or do I paypal you?

I wouldn't classify it like that at all. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you read it. You will like your shiny new LSW badge too. ;-)

The technical stuff is about the golf swing. LSW is not about the golf swing. Not much at all, anyway. To quote from the website, the back of the book, etc:

Quote:

Golf is unique: it’s the only sport in which the Lowest Score Wins. Golfers have been inundated for years with advice and sayings intended to help them shoot lower scores, like “spend 50% of your time practicing your putting” or “you’ve got to be in the short grass.”

What if we told you that most of this popular advice was not true at all? That these myths are holding you back from reaching your potential and shooting the lowest score possible? That putting might be the least important skill in golf, that driving the ball far is much more important than driving it straight, and that Phil Mickelson might just be the best strategist on the PGA Tour?

Lowest Score Wins is NOT your classic golf book. We show you the new way to shoot lower scores — immediately. You’ll learn to use something called Separation Value to guide your practice and how you can use Shot Zones to help you determine your GamePlan for every shot you play. You’ll discover why typical course management strategy fails (hint: it only covers half of the equation). This book is the first of its kind. It is your own personal roadmap to shooting lower scores tomorrow. What are you waiting for?

No, couldn't really be further from that.

And… .

Looks like your reading list (both in paperback and here on the site) just increased quite a bit. :-)

Weird, I tried to buy, my phone asked if I wanted to use Paypal, I said yes and it went away. Now when I click, it doesn't do anything. Logged into Paypal and that worked fine so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe I need to do it from a PC?

I don't know. But you have another 12 hours or so until I ship a batch out tomorrow. Good luck. :)

OK, just did it on the PC. Thanks to everyone for the skins -- I very rarely come into the site via a PC so I don't get to see those. Kind of a nice surprise!

Book just arrived. Looking forward to getting through it asap.

Thanks. You'll probably want to go back and re-read chapters now and then, again, too. :)

I just read through the chapter on mapping shot zones. Very cool stuff. Luckily I found a TrackMan system a few miles from here at the Dustin Johnson Golf School at TPC Myrtle Beach. http://www.dustinjohnsongolfschool.com/#!trackman/c21m6 Hopefully they they offer the system for an hourly rental session.

I bought the book a couple of months ago but am ashamed to say I've not started it yet. Kind of spend from sun up to sun down golfing so tend to read about anything but golf in the evening. Think I'm going to have to ditch that 'luxury' though and start reading this book - my skills are going up so it's about time to learn how to best implement them on the course. I get the feeling that is more or less what this book is about?

The above really interests me. Mostly because I have my own launch monitor in a 'swing studio' so may be able to better use the data I capture in there out on the course. Hope so :-)

    • @boogielicious and I are definitely in for the Stay & Play and will need the extra night's stay on Friday. I don't know what the plans are for our group on Friday but even if we don't make it for dinner with the rest of the Friday arrivals, I'll be more than happy to meet up somewhere for a beer or something.
    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
    • Wish I could have spent 5 minutes in the middle of the morning round to hit some balls at the range. Just did much more of right side through with keeping the shoulders feeling level (not dipping), and I was flushing them. Lol. Maybe too much focus on hands stuff while playing.
