Assume this is in eurpoe ... honestly, this type of thing is why I have little interest in playing euro style links golf - the steep faced revetted bunkers are so different from what we have in the US.   I'd be more worried about that little deep pot bunker in front of the big one ...

This is all the bunker I need.  7th hole at Fossil Trace.  Last time I was in it, I took 3 shots to get out, and I'm usually a pretty good bunker player.  Maybe not as much actual sand area as the bunker above, but the funnel effect makes it effectively larger.  It snakes up a hill from the end of the fairway for almost 60 yards to the edge of the green, and if you measure to the center of the dogleg in it, it's 80 yards long.  Filled with deep fluffy sand, unless you are on the end close to the green, extraction is difficult at best.

That is a frankenbunker of the first order, awesome!

Why do they call golf "golf"?  Because all the other four letter words were taken.

That's not a bunker, it's a burn with sand!

Sand Hill Golf Club: This doesn't look too bad ... Unless you are in it.

Once heard Sand Hills looks more like the terrain found on the surface of the moon than on a golf course, but I can't find that reference now.

Good Lord!!!  That's not just penal, it's punitive. :surrender:

The course designer must have just had a colonoscopy when he planned that hole… he left out an image of the doctor's gloved hand...

Let me guess, that tiny spec with the blue dot-like shirt needs to hit a ball the size of a grain of sand over that mountain??? :scared:

HA!!! Made me look up penal and punitive with that one, turns out I'm not keen on being penalized but I'm really into punishment :-P

Lol yes I will bop on over there as soon as I get back from Augusta National :-P I remember reading it's pretty tough to run in to a SHGC member. Not the type you'll encounter at the Applebees bar after an afternoon at the local muni.
