That's awesome, congrats.  You might be nervous on the first tee but I'm sure you'll settle down and have a good round.  Make sure you give us plenty of details on how it goes.

Sweet!

Graeme's a cool guy and you'll feel at ease pretty quickly. He's as down to earth as it gets.

Take lots of pictures. For yourself and to share. :)

BTW, there's no more Tavistock Cup.

That is AWESOME!!!! I think Gmac is a cool dude and I'm sure you'll have a blast.

But leave your wallet in the car ;-)

I have to admit, when I saw the thread I expected to see a first time poster as the OP, never to be heard from again. I'm glad it"s a pot by a "real" person.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

I just got a call from GolfNow.  I was their top booker in the Orlando area this past year (it helps to book for a small group of nuts just like us) and they asked me if, as a reward, I'd be available to play in a 4-some with Graeme McDowell next Wed at Lake Nona.....one of the two courses that they play the Tavistock Cup at!

I'm an absolute mess.  I'm not gonna be able to swing a club.......!

Just don't puke on his shoes and it's all good. :smartass:

That is pretty cool.

I enjoy playing with some of the better locals at my home course.  Watching how much better their ball striking is is very enjoyable.  I can't imagine how fun it would be to have a close up of all the shots a pro makes.

That is F___ING AWESOME! Good luck making contact with the ball. Take lots of pictures, see if you can get Gmac to join TST while you're at it. LOL

Just talked to Graeme.-Said he wasn't going to play with you until you posted a My Swing thread. Congratulations!

Congrats!

Ring ring...

Would you be available to play in a foursome with GMac?

No, I gotta catch up on Dancing with the Stars.

Are you kidding me?

Time to start following him on Twitter.

    • I kind of like this interpretation especially if you think about it the unplayable rule would probably put you in a better spot.  using back on the line releief.
    • I did not realize that, I was thinking a more traditional golf club.
    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
