Did you "interview" your last golf Instructor before you took lessons from him/her?

All, I'm researching a blog post I am working on for the RMGP site.  The first time I saw a pro I didn't ask him anything before agreeing to take lessons.  The second time I asked one or 2 questions.  Now I think I'd ask even more.  Did you interview your pro?  What did you want to know first? And did your Pro resist answering any questions you may have had?

You can check YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc... If they don't have before and after high speed videos, I'm already wary. It's the 2010s dammit, it's so cheap to have an online presence.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

No question, but the folks who aren't on the top 100 lists (even if they are awesome) are not exactly rolling in the dough, and may not have experience with such things or know who to go to.  Its why there are about 5 companies out there trying to become the "website builder" for all golf pro's presence.

I respectfully disagree. It costs $200 to get an entry level high speed camera. $10 for a tripod. $5 for a memory card. Everyone has a computer. It costs nothing to open a Twitter, FB and YT account. If you don't have internet access, you can go to Starbucks or a local library. You don't need a website. If you're smart enough to figure out the swing, I think you should be smart enough to figure this tech out.

If you want a website, I've built very professional looking websites for people w/side businesses pro bono and they pay less than $100/year to keep the sites/domain name going. It took me on average 2-4 hours to build each and I'm doing it while watching TV. There are services that let people who don't know anything about building websites, build websites, like Squarespace for one.

      I would recommend spending some time at the range and film your swing. You can post it in the Member Swings thread. At the range, you can figure out how to control the driver a bit more. We can offer some pointers once you post in the Member Swings section.

      With the H4 or the watch, you tag the club before hitting by putting the tag next to the device. The tag is on the club butt end. After a round, you don’t really think about it too much. You just do it. I don’t know how far you are from @phillyk, but he may know an instructor in your area.

      So the biggest issue right now is marrying the hands down with an athletic turn. I can get stuck not turning. Things get interesting from there.

      Hi everybody!  I am new to the golf game. I have taken some lessons and got fitted for clubs a couple of months ago. I usually score between 110-120 for 18 holes.  I bought a Stealth driver last year and have been hitting consistently with it 210-230 yds on the simulator. But when I take it out on the course, every drive is a severe slice!  I played 18 holes yesterday at the club where I belong. I removed the driver from my bag and used the 5 iron to drive with. I hit straight 16 out of 18 drives, 180 - 200 yds. I used the 5i - putter for the rest of my game.  I ended the day with a 92. Question: Does it make sense for me to continue playing with irons only until I get further along in my game before I reintroduce the Driver and woods again? Or should I continue to struggle with the Driver and woods and shoot in the 100’s again? To me it’s a no brainer, but for those more advanced I am interested to get feedback.
