Hey Guys,

Looking for 5 members to review ( user review ) "Golf with a Game Plan".  This is available to members in the UK, Canada and USA

Here's the website: http://www.golfgameplan.eu

"Golf journalist Timo Schlitz presents 30 exercises that will improve your game considerably in the 64 pages of this booklet. With these exercises, you always practice with a specific goal and will have a lot more fun during your practice sessions."

If you're interested, let me know by posting in this forum and sending me a PM with your name and shipping address.

Mike, I'm game, as I'm interested in a more structure approach to my practice. How long do you think it would reasonably take to complete enough drills in the book to give it a fair review (assuming 2-3 days a week for practice?)

I also am not currently working with an instructor, instead trying to build my swing through the drills I find on here. I'm in Missouri so consistent outdoor practice probably won't be likely for another month or so.

This sounds like a great instruction book, and I would love to give it a shot. I am always looking for a way to spice up my mundane practice regiment. Like many of the others, I won't be able to do a whole lot of the drills now as I am from Minnesota. I look forward to using these drills to take my game to the next level.

Wow that's a great topic. Sounds like you can use this even if you are working with a swing coach. It is just practice drills and not swing techniques, correct? If I'm too late to review for free I will probably purchase this anyway.

Thanks guys, I'm going to try and get everyone that posted books. Don't need anymore reviewers.

Tell you the truth I'm not sure, I've never seen the book but the author offered it up for reviews.  You also don't have to go through every drill to review the book ;-)

Correct I don't think it's a swing mechanics book, just practice drills.

I didn't even know I had made the cut, but I just got a book today...it's like a little note book size flip-up book. It's pretty awesome actually, with some good stuff! I'll post more when I actually get a chance to use it. Thanks Mike and whoever else hooked this up!

By the way: The us-price will be 19,90 dollar. Unfortunately I am still waiting for a us tax number, so up to now I am only selling over my website (http://www.golfgameplan.eu) with 4,70 dollar shipping from Germany. Later it will be available via Amazon.com without shipping costs. The German version costs 19,90 Euro...

Thanks for reviewing!

All of my local courses are marshland currently so I have all the time in the world to work on my swing. I'm more than happy to give the exercises a go and write a detailed, honest review of the booklet for the author and/or forum members.

I kind of like what I saw over on the amazon UK site. I wouldn't be interested if it was an instruction book but the drills seem to be pretty neutral and will work with swing style. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for the peer reviews, think I might want to purchase once the OP has the distribution for Canada worked out.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
