Sergio made him wait a long time on the 6th hole. He took 2 drops cause he was almost on top of a bee hive so Rickey had to wait a long time on that hole. So 7 which was the next hole he said half? Meaning I'll give you your 17 ft putt if you give me my 5 ft putt. He said he felt bad making Rickey wait that long and that's how he made up for it.

OH ok ... thanks.  That seems pretty cool to me.  Way to go Serg!

(You're still a dick for losing and blowing up my bracket though ;))

Am I the only one that thinks Sergio was scared of the 5 foot putt?

According to the Golfweek article, he had a bad childhood experience with bees, which caused him to take more time on the previous hole. Bee-phobia!

Louis O v. Jason Day should be a great game. Ernie and Spieth is also a nice old stager/new blood encounter*. Back in the day, when he could still putt, nobody ever wanted to get Ernie in matchplay.

(* Jordan was 1 year old when Ernie won his first World Matchplay in 1994. :-\ )

Oostie just stole that second hole. Not everyday a player hits his drive into a cactus, then wins the hole with birdie.

So would that be called a "prickie", similar to a "barkie"?

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Okay well I am going to post this here because I imagine you guys could sympathize... I have to say if I see the damn Lexus commercial one more time I am going to put a brick through my tv.

The Staff Duo commercials have effectively achieved in creating a very annoying spokesperson...

Rickie is looking seriously serious out there.

Brat? I see you're from France, what do the French generally think of him?

I love to watch him play. Has there been a lot of media attention around him lately with the good play? He's become a favorite of mine but no one will ever take the place of G Mac....sorry Victor....hope you lose....in extra holes!

french love him we have never had a player in the top 50 GWR *

I dont like him the thing is some of us "lucid players" have heard him crying on his coach to not practice putting, or work golf normally etc..etc...

I just dont think he has the attitude and risks to waist his talent such as kim, daly, or in a less heavy manner garcia.

*for reminder the french all time best are Thomas Levet shortly on the pGa, the historical mega lose of van de veld on the final 18th hole of the british open (you have to see that mega lol), and in 2010 a player made 2nd place in the US open, pretty much thanks to 10 000 clutch putts for qualification and a sudden ability to play golf for 4 days.

we do yet forget we have one major winner in very old ages of golf, but it's so old it doesn't count. I beleive his name was jean garalaide.

Wow, Spieth is really off today.

It seems like Spieth gets impatient on Saturday and Sunday's. He starts beating himself up and doesn't look as confident. He still plays okay but it is a constant struggle all day. I watch way too much golf.

Ernie wins...Now, how many holes until we have a winner between G Mac and V.D...?

Honestly it was more like Spieth lost it...

G Mac beaten by a Frenchmen :~(

That's ok, for me it makes Sunday 1000x less interesting though. I do enjoy watching Victor, I honestly hope he wins the whole thing, him or Fowler. I believe Victor is playing the better golf out of all 4 right now.

    • Agree. The next omission needs to be that ridiculous team concept. Nobody cares about a team when they really don’t represent anything except being a group of diminished morality and/or washed up pro golfers. Or wait, we’ve also got total nobodies who’ve accomplished nothing who now get a participation trophy! Doesn’t that sound invigorating!
    • LIV moving to 72 holes is a subtle admission that 54 holes was nothing but a joke all along.
    • I was going to start a thread, but this seems like the place.  Yesterday I played my matchplay match at my local club.  My opponent is a notorious sandbagger by reputation.  The pro once pulled his tournament rounds from the past several years and said that it is impossible his tournament rounds are legit based on his handicap. here is what happened last night.  I am getting 4 shots from him.  His current handicap index is 15.3 i shot 45 on the front.   Was down 4 after nine, he had three birdies and shot even par. I was closed out on thirteen, we halved with a bogey.  That bogey put him one over par for his round.   He then took a triple on 14 and then left. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he lied about his score.   I wrote down on my scorecard what the score was.  He put higher values that didn’t affect the outcome of the match to pad his score and apparently make it not look as obvious.   He shot 36 on the front, but claimed 40.  The higher values for his score were in the online scoring app our club uses.  He did it this way: I won #7. He had a 2 foot putt for par that if he made would still lose the hole.   He picked up and said it didn’t matter since I won.  He took a 5 instead of a 4 after picking up a gimme. on #8 his approach shot on this par 4 was 8 inches.  I verbally conceded the putt but I had hit into a hazard.  I finished the hole with a 6.  Instead of birdie he put in for par. on #9, another par 4, his approach was to 18 inches.  I missed my par putt and then knowing how close I verbally conceded the putt.  I missed my bogey putt, he never conceded mine.  Instead of birdie he put down a bogey. He padded his score by 4 shots on the front.  And then did again on 10.  I rinsed one and made 6 on a par 4.  I putted out and he was fishing balls out of the lake so I drove off to the next tee.  He had 15 feet laying two but claimed a 5.     love to know the odds of a 15 handicap being even thru 12 holes on a round of golf.
