Golf ball hunter

So my parents live across the street from a rather prestigious course for the area. Ive made it a habit to walk down the road where the 10th runs parallel and pick up some balls that need rescuing. This is my take from the other night, 62 in total, mostly the big names, Titleist, Callaway, TMAG and a few throw away practice balls. My question is, should I feel bad about this or are there others like me in the world!! lol

My opinion is that as long as you are not picking up a ball still in play, and are not violating any rules of the course or your local community, then you are recycling and picking up "litter" .  Some folks look down on hawking balls, possibly mostly due to recyclers who then try and sell the found balls, also possibly of the course has a program to recycle the balls themselves or contracts to divers who sucks balls out of the water hazards, but I don't have a problem per se.

Plus it is a great way to find balls to demo without having to buy a sleeve to see if you like how a particular balls plays.

No, most of them are actually in the corn field on the other side of the road, and I go at night so as not to ruffle any undue feathers so none of them are in play. Ive never sold em, I usually keep what I want and give the rest to my friends or random people who I get paired with at a course. Hoping this keeps my karma in the right direction. lol.

Ha i found close to 5000 balls at the course i play found them in 3 months

sold most of them about a third of them were provs and tour balls i have a different club that buys all my found balls

do what you want to with them like give some away i give some high school balls all the time

my ball hunting will come to a close after this week as they are closing the course to redo it for almost 2 yrs

That's how I feel, id hate to see those poor helpless golf balls die at the hands of a combine

I think that happened to one of my "tree" balls. I hit a tree really hard and two fairways across, I saw someone stoop down and pick up a ball.

If it was mine, that action cost me stroke and distance.

For years at my old club I never bought a ball. I would just take a stroll for an hour next to certain holes (left side for better balls!) and pick up a shopping bag full every few weeks. I played the good ones and hit the rocks on the range. I buy new balls these days, but still play a "found" ball now and again.
