While they're officially split, I'm sure that doesn't mean Woods won't text him a little question here or there? Or vice-versa.

TW: Hey, Chris.
CC: Wassup?
TW: Want a popsicle?

Yup.

Obviously this is fake, but never seen it before. Walking on water, shot off the water.

He should hire a new web designer with the money he saves on parting ways with Como. Preferably one that knows how to use fonts. That blog hurts to read.

Not much new in the blog. This part is probably the most non-uninteresting:

Quote

I took a week off after Hero to train and build up my body because as a tournament week goes on, we all degrade a little bit. That’s just the nature of playing competitive golf.

Now, I feel I’ve taken it to another level. I’ve started practicing again and was out with Justin the other day and had a good time. I’m continuing to progress and trying to get strong enough to where I can handle a workload again. I would love to play a full schedule in 2018. What that entails, including back-to-back events, I don’t know. I just have to continue to work on my body and game and see where I pan out. I wish I knew where I was going to play and when I was going to play – it’s a lot easier to prep for that – but we really don’t know. This is all unchartered territory.

My swing is definitely shorter and I can’t turn as far. My back is fused and that’s as far as it’s going to go. But I was surprised at how explosive I was. And on top of that, how well I putted. I had been rolling it well at home, but it’s totally different when you have adrenalin in your system. I’m more than a full-club longer than when I shut it down. I wasn’t hitting it very far and was struggling to hit it solid. That’s a bad combo.

So Tont apparently commits to play Torrey. I guess we all knew that but he makes it official now.

Also I just noticed this from his blog - "This is all unchartered territory."

Ugh that irks me to no end. Sloppy sloppy, Tigs...

Posted this here before, but haven't watched it for awhile, it's hard to believe these commercials are hard to find in decent quality now. Maybe someone has quality vids out there I'm just not finding.

This is a great video. It's easy to forget how good he was back in the day. There is one I think from like 1997 where he's playing with Paul Azinger. It's a par 5 with a stream short left of the green I think. Tiger's 238 out and pulls an iron out. Everyone's like oh he's laying up. That's strange. He hits it and the ball lands about 5 feet from the pin. He changed the game.

I would love to have seen McIlroy mouth to his dad, WTF?

Quote

“I was on my way there worrying thinking, ‘what will I see?’, but it was incredible,” McIlroy told Telegraph Sport. “My dad [Gerry] also played with us and we both couldn’t believe it. I remember mouthing to Dad, ‘WTF?’. And on the drive home afterwards, we said: ‘Where the hell did that come from?’ Tiger was that good; playing every shot, not having to hold back.

Quote

“When he came back in 2013, all he did was hit a big cut and was getting himself around with his chipping and putting,” McIlroy said. “And, yeah, that is incredible in itself. But he’s got everything again now.

Proof once again that PGA Tour players don't even know what they're talking about.

That's 2012, of course. 2013:

https://www.pgatour.com/stats/stat.02568.2013.html - first in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green with 1.533.
https://www.pgatour.com/stats/stat.02564.2013.html - 24th in SG: Putting at 0.426 (less than 1/3 of his SG: Approach)
https://www.pgatour.com/stats/stat.02567.2013.html - well down on the list for SG: Driving, but only -.142.

Total SG: 2.046
Driving + Approach: 1.533-0.142 = 1.391
Putting + Short Game: 0.655 (short game: 0.229)

Rory, sorry, while his driver was a bit funky, his iron game was still - as almost always with Tiger - his strength.

So no, he wasn't getting himself around with his chipping and putting. His chipping and putting accounted for less than half of what he gained from the full swing, even with the driving included in there: 0.655/1.391 =  47%.

Some people no matter how they swing, the club finds the ball. Woods finds the green. So much talent.

    • Committing to one brand of ball this year - Snell MTB Prime X, the 5 doz. pack. Like how they perform for me. At $18/doz., can live with cover scuffing. Iron regripping with GolfPrice MCC+4 Teams std. in red/navy. May be retiring Odyssey Dual Force after 30 yrs. Seems like I can't get it to the hole anymore. Kind of light and has lots of toe hang. My reg. group's hounding finally wore me down.    From Callaway preowned - trying out the Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K in double wide (less toe hang) and triple wide (face balanced). Both also noticeably heavier...we shall see.
    • WOW, it looks like he has been hitting stones with that putter to put all of those nicks into it.  I can't see how a ball would cause many those dings.
    • I'm fighting a knee as well as a foot so I "Feel your pain".  Luckily for me the PT is helping at this time and I am hoping knee surgery is not imminent.  Best of luck to you.
    • I would guess putting grooves in it might make it non-conforming. I am not sure how stringent the USGA is on restoring golf clubs.
    • If PT doesn't work, then all other options (shots) are just temporary bandages of the pain. You may do more damage. Pain is the bodies way of telling you to STOP. Once you get rid of that, you are just now using an already damaged body part and put more stress and strain on it.
