That's funny. Look at the comments here…

"When the golfer is applying a specific cocktail of forces and torques through impact the look of the follow through is quite specific"

Whatever cocktail Tiger drinks, I want one. Or multiple.

Agreed. It was well written with some new anecdotes, but the overall themes surrounding Tiger Woods remain unchanged by the article.  The major point I disagree with is definitively declaring tha

I don't know if this has been brought up here before, but I just watched a YouTube video about Tiger's SixPeat - his six year run of 3 USGA Junior Amateurs followed by his 3 US Amateurs.

From what I've heard, at one point Nike was very low on wedge blanks for tour players so they sourced some blank heads from Miura. The heads were ground by Nike tour club guys, were in play for a shor

Uh oh, T-Woods injury.  He's out at Arnold Palmer but still plans to play Players.  Says it's a neck strain.

Tiger Woods has pulled out of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill with a neck strain.

Been waiting for something like this, but it might not be a bad omen since it's in the neck. Still part of the spine, but it's not the lower back, if, as Erik pointed out, it's the entire story.

So he had a neck strain for a “few weeks” but just now decided he can’t play in a tournament.

Something smells rotten in Denmark.

I don’t think we are getting the full story.

Maybe he was hoping it would be better in time for him to play this week?

He played a couple of weeks ago in Mexico and said nothing of his neck strain. So I am not sure if this neck strain thing is real.

I guess only Tiger knows.

Seems believable to me.

You play thinking it may get better, or it's basically too late to WD. Maybe he strained it on the flight down to Mexico. But now that it's not better yet… you take the time off.

BTW… every Masters Tiger has won, the Players was in March. He'd shut it down after the Players and commit to Masters prep after that.

Bodes well for this year.*

* Just to balance out the bad news above.

When has Tiger ever been one to share all details about himself to the press? If it wasn't too much of a bothering in Mexico, why should he mention it?

Given his track record, it's not unreasonable to think that this "minor neck strain" turns into something a little more serious, then a little more serious, then eventually devastating.

Hope not though. Like having him back.

I don't think so. A strain is muscular. Not spinal or disc related, etc.

This assumes, again, that it's actually a "strain."

The guy is getting older and has maxed out his body for so long. I'm just gonna go with let's just roll with it and whatever happens, happens, not read too much into anything.

Exactly.  Never can be too sure what's really happening based on what comes out of his camp.  I don't think a strain turns into something else, necessarily, but I do thing that certain stories change over time... 🙂

I do hope it's nothing and he's back at it asap.

    • I’ve almost completed the main game of Hollow Knight. An incredible game that I knew nothing about before playing. It’s a Metroidvania like game and quite extensive. It feels like the Soulsborne of platformers. Somewhat in the vein of the Ori games, but more extensive and challenging. It’s not as difficult as games like Wings og Vi, Boshy and Roah, but takes some precise controlling. You can become a bit OP by collecting and upgrading, which makes it more manageable, not too different from Soulsborne.
    • Day 517: Played 18 today with new concepts/feels from my lesson to address my bad hook misses. Didn’t feel like I was playing particularly great, but scored well (79), and zero hooks. Shots that I didn’t control the club face well were straight fades or slightly pushed fades, all playable. Driver wasn’t good today but only hit it on three holes.
    • Sugar Hill Golf Club - Front Nine 49 Stupid mistakes cost me on three holes. I went bogey, triple (8 on a par 5), bogey, double, bogey, bogey, double, bogey, par.  On both doubles, I couldn't find my ball and had to take a drop.  On the first one, I never heard it hit any trees or anything, but I lost it into the setting sun.  I have no doubt that it was somewhere in the deep Bermuda rough along the right side of the fairway, but I never found it.  The second was well struck (out of the rough because of a topped 3 hybrid) and based on my aim, it should have been okay, but it was nowhere to be found.  The par-five ninth was a series of five almost perfect shots on a difficult, sloping double dogleg hole.
    • Thank you I appreciate that. What made the birdies so nice that all my shots in both of them were great shots. One thing a person of my handicap has a hard time doing is being consistent. When I I'm consistent, even only through one hole or two, it feels great. I shot an 80 on the course which was also very good for my level, and this was after shooting 102 just days before , LOL.
    • First off, is this the oldest topic in the forum? 15 Years, wow. This discussion about the greatest of all time is mute.  All sports have the same point and counterpoints. Most Home-runs, best hitter in baseball, most Super Bowl Rings, on and on. Comparing athletes from different eras are practically impossible. From changes ranging from physicality to equipment, travel, nutrition, playing conditions, shorter courses vs longer courses, stadiums indoor vs outdoor, astroturf, lowering the mounds, 3 point lines, instant replay and more. Best of an “ERA” I could believe in that. Sustainability in a sport is a good measure, but not those that linger.  Having the most Majors?  Most Super Bowl Trophies? Individual sports, Team Sports? Jack vs Tiger?  Take your pick.
