if i was an announcer, i would refuse to refer to the fans as "patrons"...i wouldnt say "fans" but i'd use generic terms like "everyone" or "everybody" or "the people here".  so pretentious...

Hehe, they're pretty good at sniffing out insubordinate announcers... I'm not sure you would last long, although, I'd pay to hear you do it for a day, or at least, until they used a vaudeville hook to yank off the stage. :-P

PGATour.com's leader board seems to be lagging. Yahoo is updating much faster.. which is rare.

Masters.com has the best leaderboard. It's almost real time fast with the updates.

Simply put, there's no point in using any other leaderboard because their's is the best one

I'm exclusive to masters.com right now.  Their leaderboard looks just like the wooden one on the 18th hole at the course.  Kinda cool.

I like the over/under style they have as well.

Maybe the word itself isn't pretentious, but the fact that we know that the Augusta people REQUIRE that they use only that word makes it pretentious.

Any other tournament where the announcer says "Second cut" doesn't sound pretentious at all.  But here, knowing full well that they are forbidden from saying "rough," makes it so.  Same with "first nine" and "second nine" in place of front and back.

Luke looks wooden out there.

I don't like the way his swing looks.  I'd take it if offered, but compared to some of the other pretty swings out there, his looks goofy.  It's something about the pose he finishes in that just looks odd to me.

That's not what stupid monkey means. :-)

Whhhhaaatt? You don't like the way his swing looks? His swing is way more looks than function, I think. And the function is still PGA Tour winning level.

OK fine, he does have a pretty weird hands thing he does through impact. Other than that it all looks so classic to me... and the tempo! Gorgeous.

Agree to disagree.

I love his swing but he looks robotic today. Maybe it's because he's playing with Bubba.

Guy's en fuego right now.

...Bubba that is.

Luke looks about as disgusted with his swing as @Golfingdad right now so maybe he's right :-P

Haha.  Just checked out the MASTER'S leaderboard and found that Streelman had nothing but 1s and 2s on his card, except for the first hole where he scored a 0 (zero).  That's mighty good golf and he should offer his services to North Korea where the Master there wants good golf.

Yeah, the MASTER'S is a load of pretentious crap.  Oh, i enjoy the golf and players well enough but the organizers are money and status morons.

McDowell is +3 after four holes today. @David in FL , go straighten him out or we are not going to have a shot at winning this contest!

That's fair.  But, yeah, if a genie came to me and said that I'd be gifted the swing of one PGA Tour player, AND that 100 other random people were getting the same wish, AND that we would all be gifted a different players swing, therefore, I was to list all of the PGA players swings that I'd like in order, 1 through 100 ... I know that Luke Donald would not be near the top of that list.  I don't know where he'd be, but he wouldn't be near the top.

Elvy just said on one of the featured groups that Tiger's camp says he's "likely to be back by the end of the summer."

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
