  1. 1. Which is most likely (you HAVE to pick one or the other)?

    • Tiger wins two (2) more majors in his career
      23
    • Rory wins six (6) more majors in his career
      9

You have to take a side. You can't say you don't think either or both will happen.  Would you bet more on:

#1-  Tiger wins 2 more majors in his career

#2-  Rory wins at least 8 majors (6 more) in his career

I think it's a decent question because I'm having trouble picking.  I think I would go with Tiger, even though there's so much doubt right now, especially with his injuries.

i'd say Rory just because he has the skill and a lot of golf ahead of him. he has 4 chances every year for at least 10 years. lol

Wow. Tough question, good poll. The more I think about it the tougher it is to settle on an answer. I think they'll both happen but you specifically ruled that out as a voting possibility... I'll get back to ya.

Neither in my opinion..........

Rory win 8 Majors - negative. He is good, but there are so are many others now..............

Tigs? doubt if he will win another Major.............

I don't think either is likely but I think Tiger has a better chance of winning 2 more than Rory does of winning 6 more.

Well, let's see ... in a thread at the end of last year where we predicted Tigers season, I predicted FOR THIS SEASON that he would win 2 majors. Even though he's been injured and that seems like quite a long shot at this point, I'm sticking by it.

So, obviously, I'll go with #1 being more likely.

Rory has lapped the field in 2 majors so far, so it would hardly be unimaginable that he'd win 6 more majors.

Alright, I'm going with Rory winning six more. The deciding factor for me is Tiger's back, he may still have a shot but I'll pick the Rory answer although I think it's quite possible, bordering on likely, that both will happen. When Rory gets hot he wins by a huge margin.

Not sure if either will happen, but seems more likely that Tiger will get two than Rory getting six.

Before this back injury, I would have said Tiger getting two majors is a better likelihood. But I think this back injury is very serious and could really derail Tiger for considerable time, not just this year, but in future years. So as of now I'd say Rory has the better shot of the two options.

I have to go with Tiger, I think the both have a good shot but 2 is way less than 6, even factoring in the years "left to play".

I say Tiger, and I don't think it's a tough call. I think we forget sometimes how hard it is to win a major, let alone multiples.

Of all of the great golfers out there right now, here is the list of active guys with more than 2 majors. Tiger (14), Phil (5), Els (4), Vijay (4), Harrington (3). That's it. So while I think the odds of Tiger winning 2 more are less than 50%, I'd say the odds of Rory winning 6 more are probably in the low single digits.

I know he won 5 times last year, but between the back and the knees and the age, I'm starting to get the feeling that Tiger's gonna decline more rapidly than a lot of golfers.  At the very least he'll rarely be healthy enough to simply roll through many tourneys in a row and get in the groove enough to cruise to major wins.  I wouldn't take an even bet on either, but I think Rory getting 6 more on his career is slightly more likely.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I believe you have it backwards. The question is forward thinking' in the future ( not past history) . I mean if he's hurt in the latter part of last season and still hurt during the season like he is now, what does he do in the off season?????

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I believe you have it backwards.

The question is forward thinking' in the future ( not past history) there is no relevance to what either tiger or Rory did, it's what they are going to do. I believe its a no brainier for Rory, why. Because he's young and a darn good golfer. Tiger on the other hand, hasn't won' seems to be snake bit, is getting older' plays erratically, breaking down, his ability to hit the fairway and clutch putting seems to be diminished. All of this considering the fact he only plays 16 times a year.

I mean if he's hurt in the latter part of last season and still hurt during the season like he is now, what does he do in the off season?????

Conversely, I don't think Rory or any other golfer on the Tour right now is good enough to win 6 majors given the only active golfer to win 5 besides Tiger is Phil.

I factored Tiger's injury history into my assumption. Even with that in mind, I still think the odds of him winning one more major are better than 50/50. Does that seem unreasonable to you? If it doesn't, then you have to admit that the odds of him winning two or more aren't negligible.

I don't think ANY golfer (Rory, Zach Johnson, Dufner, the immortal Patrick Reed) has a better than 1 in 10 shot at winning 6 majors.

Question for you: If you were placing odds on each of the two possibilities, what odds would you give?

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I said McIlroy. He's 24 years old, and has won two majors by 8 strokes. Woods hasn't won a major in 6 years.
