A few years ago I recall having a link to a website what had an overview of various courses in the area, plus it had a lot of photos of each hole (or most of them) from the tee box.  I'm having trouble finding that site again.  Thought I had it but that one doesn't show the layout of each hole.  Some course specific sites show a score card (Oakwood in Franklin for example) but don't seem to show where each hole is. I play Hawthorne Hills up in Saukville a few years ago (last course I played) and didn't know which way to go from one green to get to the next tee, so an overview of the course would be nice to have.  Also, a couple of the apps I've got on my phone seem to want me to be on the course before it will load any info.  One that I thought I remembered seems to be defunct now (or was captured by GoDaddy or something).

www.golfwisconsin.com is the only one I have a link to currently.

Any other sites out there that show hole and course layouts?  I like to get a preview or general feel for a course before I try to play it.

@treebound , check out BlueGolf.com they have most courses in WI.  Click on course in the upper right and then type in your course.

Thanks, looks like they have Hawthorne's scorecard with a map on it. I could have used that a few years ago.

Do they have the "tour" option for Hawthorne? I love it and that is how I scout courses. I love the measurement tool. BG is also built into the WSGA site which is nice.

Hey, that tour option is neat, and shows me the distance to right where I put a ball in a creek in front of the 6th green. Neat stuff.

Yep cool stuff.  I was just talking with a friend who mentioned the only real downside is that you cannot really see elevation.  But being able to measure tee shots to see the carry for certain bunkers or stay short of an elbow or hazard is helpful stuff.  The measurements are pretty dang accurate as well.  There is a hole at Ironwood that I was convinced was longer than the scorecard and sure enough, I measure it on BlueGolf and while all the other holes measure correctly this one measures like 20 yards longer than the card to the center of the green.  Those Jerks! ;-)

I looked up Kettle Hills in Richfield and there is the tour option for both of the 18 hole courses. I gotta say that the bird's eye view of the holes is much different than I remember them. One hole I'd swear is a 90 degree dogleg around a pond with the pond encroaching into the fairway hiding over a hill from the tee, but nowhere near that looking from above (6th? on the Ponds & Woods track). Same with another (17 or 18) that plays like a zigzag double dogleg, but looks less intimidating from above, could be the near cliff approaching the green. Neat stuff. Manageable with the cell phone browser but much more usable with the desktop computer.
