I like this thread, it lets me dream.

I'd love to be good enough to hit a set of callaway prototype irons, but I have to stick to GI. And so, here's my dream set:

Driver: Current (FT-IQ)
FW: FT-i squareway wood (never tried one, looks interesting to a slicer like me)
Irons: Adams a4OS hybrid and Callaway FT 4-PW, SW with i-brid 3 and 4
Wedge: Current (Callaway Forged+)
Putter: Current (Cameron Detour)

In my tour bag:
Driver: FT-IQ
Fairway Wood: Big Bertha 3W
Irons: Big Bertha Fusion 3-PW
Wedge: Forged+ SWPutter: DetourBall: TP BurnerConsidering an adams a4OS hybrid? Opinions?

I'd be happy (seriously) with just an upgrade in my irons. I'm currently looking at the Callaway X-22 and the Burners. I've hit my friend's X-20s a few times and really like the feel and look at address. I like my other clubs and am still finding more out of my driver.

Hopefully, I can break 90 soon :)

Well...this sound dorky, but as dream set I'd want to have mystic irons, wedges, and a putter forged in some old mans workshop (a mysterious samurai type maybe even). These irons would have a beautiful resonant sound that was unique to anything made, and pinup girls (each different) stamped on the heads. But this does not exsist...and more importantly wouldn't lower my handicap faster than something off the rack.

My dream set would be:

R9 TP driver
Mizuno MP 68 irons
BV wedges 52, 56 and 60
Scotty Cameron circa 62 putter

But in this case I will need a dream single digit handicap. Till then I am satisfied by what I have.
My achievements:
Eagles: 0
Birdies: 18
Best Round: 89

I just about have it. I'd like to try out the Tour Edge Exotics XCG-V fairway woods, and would be willing to bet they'd quickly find a place in my bag. The driver is absolutely incredible.

Other than that, a custom Byron Morgan 006 would be the icing on the cake.

Fairway: Burner 15⁰/19⁰
Irons: MP-67
Wedges: 1018 52⁰/56⁰/60⁰

Playing it right now. Maybe I'd experiment with some different wedges, or rather have the soles grinded a bit for a bit more ease with versatility but this is just how I want it. I'm gonna be sad when I wear my irons out.

Since I made this thread, I seem to have stopped my club ho'ing.

I'm very content with my current setup although I may upgrade to MP-68s after I get custom fitted.

Also, a 50*-54*-58* wedge setup would better suit me.

    • Day 85 - Played 9. Driver was solid, approach shots were pushed, chipping/pitching was better, putting was rough.
    • Day 514, March 28, 2024 Quick ten minutes while waiting for the wife to come home for our trip.
    • Day 262: did a stack session. Worked on rehearsal swings during rest breaks.
    • It's been a little more than a year since I can last remember hitting golf balls and today I just got my second cortisone injection in 11 months. I thought maybe shortly after the first injection I was going to be able to start playing again with therapy but the pain while doing my backswing past halfway just didn't subside like just lifting my hands up in the air did. So today the Orthopedic surgeon put more in the backside of the shoulder than before to address the tendon more. I'm going to try therapy for another 3 months and if I  can't swing the club without pain then I think surgery is going to be my next option.
    • I was just down visiting family in southern California and we played a couple rounds of golf. I hit my ball into the deep rough near some tree's and my cousin's husband offered me his Sim 2 Rescue Hybrid to try out. And I felt the same way, wow! I loved it, it also had a Pure DTX grip on it which I loved. As soon as I got back home, I ended up buying two used Calloway Rogue X hybrids, 3 and 5. So far I've only tested them out at the range, but I love them. They're much more forgiving than irons for me.
