I am mostly up for retail stores. I like to try out the product before I use it. I keep an eye out at goodwill. Sounds stupid, but I found a callaway PW for $1.50

In my bag.

"You get what you pay for" - "if it sounds too good too be true it probably is" I learned my lesson! Check out the taylor made website, there is a section on fake clubs. I put the serial #'s in there and it didn't say it was fake, 3 dealers confirmed my feelings! They said China is HUGE for fake clubs. The heads on most clubs are made there and sneaking out a mold makes it pretty easy. They could melt down scrap metal and beer cans and there you go, an R-7 for $49!
When I stand over a club I don't feel like wondering is this thing real? There are some good discount websites like "rock bottom golf" and plenty of good deals on close-outs. Most of my clubs were close-outs and they were the hot club last year, I am fine with that!
My dad has a China made fake r-7 3wood that he got for Christmas, I bought the real one on close-out at golfsmith.

I'm on Ebay all the time. Bought a set of Cobra Oversize Irons on there about 7 years ago. Bought my Gap and Sand Wedge on Ebay a couple months ago. Get my HX Tours for about 20-25% off. I mean, there's always good deals on Ebay.

Actually, I'm looking for a rangefinder right now. If I go to Golf Galaxy it would cost me $300 (+ tax) for a Medalist and $400 (+ tax) for a 1500 TE. You can get them on Ebay for $260 and $330 including S&H.;

But I don't buy everything there. I got my driver at the Galaxy. Same with my irons. But at the time, they were "I have to try it out first" kinda buys and I felt like I got such a good deal on them anyway.

I do all the above but I do get a lot from ebay

When it comes to big purchases I like to see it in person BUT if you know exactly what you want and you buy from a reputable seller (everyone has a seller rating) you can sometimes get tremendous deals. I just bought a Brand new Callaway Big Bertha 3w for $81 + shipping. Hard to pass that up. But short of finding a tremendous deal like that I usually will buy from the local shops.

ive bought a few drivers from ebay, becareful, ask alot of question, i have been sent 2 drivers that were non-conforming and they did not note that in their posting

just check that the retailer has a lot of positive feedback, and obviously don't buy from Asia, especially China.

I got a $800 set of Titleist irons slighlty used for $300, best purchase I ever made.

I used to buy a lot on ebay. Lately I've seen so many fakes, ebay's support has slipped so badly and I see more and more dishonest sellers.

Now I go to really good clubfitters for my gear and they are worth it.

It's really a shame. Ebay is a great idea.

I just purchased six dozen Titleist DT Carry/Roll, three of each, new, for $80.

I like Ebay, you just have to be smart about the seller.

I just purchased a new set up Cobra Cb irons online last week and saved a couple of hundred dollars by doing so. I do buy mostly from retail stores, however.

Great deals can be had on ebay. It requires being careful though. If you're buying used you must be prepared for it to be in USED condition. I have bought used on ebay and you couldn't tell the club had ever been hit but I'm sure that's not the norm. If you buy used make sure they have several pictures and even contact the seller to give you the straight poop on what the condition really is and make sure they have a return policy in case they didn't give you accurate info. If you are buying new, stick to the power sellers or the like (3ballsgolf, golfmartonline, etc.). You can pretty much trust those guys. Otherwise, if you want good prices, buy last year's closeouts from the local golf shop.

I got my beloved Ping Eye 2 BeCu's there and just picked up a Sonartec 17* hybrid and 13* 3-wood for next to nothing. I also got ripped-off once buying a baby stroller...so be careful.

i just purchase 2 hybrid from globalgolf in ebay. the price is real good. but i also receive email from a email which contain ebay asking me to buy something that i was outbidded which i think these email are fake.

now waiting for the club to arrive. can't wait. haha.. just that i stay in singapore. the shipment will take 1 week. even i include the shipping price. the price is still good.

Just bought 2 rangefinders of E-Bay in the last week. Got the Bushnell 1500 TE for $315 and the Callaway/Nikon LR 800 for $265. That's with shipping and they're both brand new.

Now I'll compare the two, keep the one I like the best, and sell the other....on E-Bay.

It depends what you are buying, as to which is best to use. For clubs Ebay is a good deal. If you're thinking about buying from Ebay go with a seller that has 100s-1000s of sales and high postive feedback (98% or higher postive feedback) (those are often golf stores trying to get rid of product they've had for a while, or they over ordered items). Balls, clothing, and some of the other smaller items you can get online (other than Ebay) at reasonable prices. Some times I like to support local locations on small / cheap items.

Fairway metals/woods: Burner TP 13* Tour Spoon, and Burner TP 17.5*
