I'm thinking next time I will wait and enter just before the start so I can cherry pick the number 2 and 3 spots.

I'm even more "lazy" than you are because I barely looked back to see who had been picked at all and barely read the rules.

I assume the first person that picks the correct winner and the correct score (or closest to it) wins. If that is correct the odds are that the winner is going to come from somebody's first pick.

If the optimum scores are already taken by the time the guy that waits until the last minute picks then he is probably less likely to win than the guy that picked first, who had his choice of both the winner and the score.

If a dark horse wins then the waiting strategy would pay off...But that's not worth the gamble.

I don't think we've ever had to rely on a second pick, let alone a third.

So… good luck with that strategy. It's bound to happen eventually, I suppose. But if you're relying on that to happen, you should just pick a no-name guy with your first pick.

Yes that is correct. Every winner (this is our 10th prediction contest) has come from someone's first pick.
