Be aware of the different segments of the $70 billion a year USA golf industry. You have:

  • Golf equipment manufacturing and sales (Callaway, Ping, TM...)
  • Golf merchandising: Selling the stuff that Callaway, etc., makes. Think Golf Galaxy, Golfsmith
  • Golf operations: Managing golf course operations
  • Golf clubhouse operations: Food service, banquets and catering at the course clubhouse
  • Golf instruction: Teach aspiring or long-term golfers at a countryf club, course, driving range, or a golf superstore (You'll' need a PGA teaching card to make $$ at this)
  • Golf events and destination promotion - coordinate with the above five segments to put on events, or draw in vacationers
  • Pro golf tour... you know about this, but there's a lot more to professional golfdom than PGA, LPGA and Champions tour.

If you can help manage inventory, and understand cost accounting, these are a plus for breaking into golfdom.

Remember, you'll probably have to start at the bottom. Realize that age 30 - you're already 27 -  is about the time many of those who started at the bottom a decade ago decide whether to stay in golfdom, or try something else.

... i dont depend on the prize i just wanna make name for my self and get a sponsorship...

If you enter a PGA certification program and work as a teaching pro, you probably could get sponsored by one of the companies. They won't pay you $$ to play their gear, but they would give you a new bag every couple of years, and new clubs to try out and play.

It's like skateboarding.

If you're cool you'll certainly get money.

Just tell them what you want. Make a few calls and you'll get some cash.

If they want to give you stuff like bags and shoes with their name on it just ask for cash instead.

The good looking golfers get the most sponsorship but the ones who are just good players only get bag unless they put out a song or something like that.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Yes, but you won't get a chance to play in the British and US Open.

Hey, if those preteen kids can play in the US Open, women\s, why can't he get into the men's US Open?  It's an open door, if you are skilled enough to find the key.

If you manage that you'd probably already have sponsorship! If you wanna make some money within golf, try lake diving, retrieving lost balls from lakes! There's money in that! If you get really good at you might even make a name for yourself!
