Haha if only... But looks like he's playing very solid. Almost 75% fairway hits this tournament. Man I hope so much he will play this whole tournament high on the leaderboards. He really needs a good finish on such a tournament once.

Are there many golf courses in The Netherlands? I lived in Germany for a few years ('86-'88), about 2 hours from the border so went quite a few times but don't ever recall seeing a course or a sign to a course there.

Well, like I said, probably making a dog's lunch out of the pronunciation but...Joost Luiten...Juice Newton...no? Tap, tap. Is this thing on?

As a regular viewer of the European Tour over the past 10 years I have seen Joost Luiten become a skilled, consistent player. Indeed, he is often touted as a contender for most tournaments he enters o

Joost, rhymes with toast. Along with plenty of great golf and socializing, I'm proud to say that @MacDutch and the rest of his merry band taught me how to properly pronounce Joost's name, first a

I guess not as many as in USA, but I don't feel like that there are not a lot. From my house alone 2 courses within 10 minutes, en where I play and train now it's 25 minutes away. I think we have a fair amount of golf courses. Mix of park, link and forrest.

Just being a father since 2,5 months, I really should go to bed now. Hope to see some birdies when I wake up, playing very solid again and in top 10 now. Come on!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? In Holland. Anything over 5 metres is considered mountainous

Ha, no doubt, I was surprised too; just heard it on the telecast.

It did occur to me that if Joost makes a move then they'll be all sorts of researchers desperately scrambling around for information on him tomorrow. Well Google index things based on content and recent activity amongst other stuff, so if we keep posting Joost numerous times and accompany it with spurious facts (or darn right lies) we could start something

Joost Luiten excelled in science whilst at school, founding the Uttrecht space agency and building 'Tulip One', the Netherlands first rocket from the spare parts of his sisters bicycle in his fathers shed. The rocket was housed inside a windmill (95% of dutch people live in windmills so it never aroused suspicion). Although it was regarded as a pioneering adventure, Joosts pet dog, and test pilot, did make the ultimate sacrifice when Tulip one failed to reach orbit on its only launch. Joost, filled with remose for the astronaut abandoned space exploration and took up golf.

The tulip isn't indigenous to the Netherlands incidentally and originates from Afghanistan

    • When I was much younger golf was something to do when we were drinking.  Now that I am a little more mature I almost never drink when I golf. Probably because I play with my son more than anyone else. My son was our designated driver after a recent day trip with a couple friends.  Even then we didn't drink until the 19th hole.  Tomorrow we are playing in a charity scramble, so there is a chance I will have a couple beers during that round.
    • Today's finishing hole requires that most average golfers layup due to water beginning at 200 yards and requiring a 260 carry to clear it. The last time I played I hit a 4H into the water since fairways are dry and rolling. Today I hit a 6 iron pure and it stopped about 3 feet short of the water. That is as good a 6 that I can hit. And then I had 130 to the pin and hit an A-wedge to 3 feet. So after 2 consecutive best shots ever, I missed the birdie putt for the worst shot ever. I did however play the last 5 holes in 1 over after playing the first 4 in 10 over par (guessing as I quit counting on 1 hole).
    • Day 22: Note: Reverted back to day 22 because I forgot to post yesterday, so my current streak is 22 of 24 days. Woke up with a sore neck, which hasn't gone away yet, so not feeling like doing full swing practice. Did COVID-19 day 6 and 7 drills, and a little backswing practice using LVP camera.
    • Thanks for the outstanding week!! Absolute dream golf trip.
    • I’d hit an iron or whatever depending on the tee to the right side, then have a short iron in with a good angle to the green.
