Mine are still together but a couple of them are pretty worn down and you can barely tell the club marking.

Just sent another support case to GG. Last round not showing in my challenges or stats. Wouldn't bother me if it wasn't one of the best stat days I've had all year. After signing it nothing changed, stats didn't change, GG handicap (meaningless) didn't change, scoring average didn't change etc. So I hit edit and resigned and nothing happened, another edit and resign (no actual edits) and again resigned and nothing. A +1 9 hole round should have changed everything  but it's the same as before. Makes me wonder how many times this has happened. Which if it has it means my GG stats are meaningless.

Club performance also appears to be static. I hit three 8i shots yesterday, two at the average and one 16 yards longer than average and that shot isn't showing. This I have seen before so not sure why I didn't question it earlier. About ready to give up on GG and try Arrcos.

Just found out I lost another tag my last time out. This is kind of annoying. I like PURE Grips, but if I keep losing tags I'm going to have to switch.

I had the tag siliconed in, too. I guess it was due for a touch-up. Lousy way to find out.

I got home one day from a round and was cleaning my clubs when I noticed my 5i tag was missing.  I dumped the bag upside down in case it was in the bottom.  I went and uploaded my round and seen the last 5i tag was on number 7 hole from a driver slice off the tee.   I am real familiar with the area.  I asked my brother if he wanted to go on a search at the golf course.   It was dark out but we found it in probably 30 seconds of search.  It was about 5 feet from where I remember taking the shot.   The mowers in the morning would have made it a lost cause.

I did away with the silicon and have been using medium super glue.  I have removed them after doing it when I was switching my wedges around a couple of times.

I use super glue as well. Not had any problems.

Thanks for the tip, I'll make the switch to super glue.

At least they sell individual tags now, not that I'm going to buy one ATM. Will just replace with one of the shape ones and call it a day.

I haven't had any problems with silicone. Yet? Maybe.

Good chance it's because you hit the sweetspot more often than I do. My guess is it has to do with vibration that gets transferred up the shaft from the head. Thinking about it now, I've lost three tags, all off my vintage blades. I have the same grips (from the same order) on my wedges and have never even had to re-tighten them.

I was thinking the same thing about hitting the sweet spot and having less vibration.  I did see one of mine fly off while out on the course (well, a little off).  It was in that same area as before.  The ground down there is very hard and I have a hell of a time hitting anything decent to get back on the fairway or make a stab at the green through the trees.  That one also had silicon on it (Golf Pride Tour Wrap grip).

I have heard of Game Golf sending tags for free that have been lost.  It might be worth a shot especially if you are a regular user of the product.

My GG unit just came today (Amazon Prime FTW).  Purchased for $115 from Amazon.

I've set up my bag, and installed the tags.  I was a little nervous about the tag install after reading everything here.  In case it is helpful, here is how they installed on a variety of grips:

Winn Dri-Tac (woods/hybrids) - Installed perfectly with the screw thread.  Very secure. I can't imagine how these would come loose.

GolfPride CP-2 Wrap (irons) - Installed perfectly with the screw head. Very secure. I can't imagine how these would come loose.

GolfPride Tour Wrap (wedges) - This is the only install that I might add some silicone to.  They seem secure, but I can pull them straight out without turning with a bit of effort.

Winn Jumbo Lite (putter) - Installed perfectly with the screw head. Very secure. I can't imagine how these would come loose.

I'm probably not going to actually get to use the unit for the next few weeks, unfortunately, but I'm excited to try it out.  I'll probably track only "practice" rounds (unsigned and then deleted) for the fall/winter, to get used to working with the software, and then start in earnest next spring.

FWIW the tags seat great on the flat ended GP ND MCC Plus 4. My full swing club tags are never loose. The tag that comes loose for me is on the putter and I assume because it's the club I use most, often tossed on the ground for chips after missing the green etc.

You'd be surprised. The vibrations from a thin hit will pop those suckers right off.

I'll probably track only "practice" rounds (unsigned and then deleted) for the fall/winter, to get used to working with the software, and then start in earnest next spring.

You don't even have to delete the "practice" rounds.  After uploading and reviewing the individual holes, you'll come to a screen that will have you sign the round:

Screen_Shot_2015-10-06_at_5.46.17_PM.thu

Before clicking "sign round," click on the gear icon, which opens a menu:

Screen_Shot_2015-10-06_at_5.46.39_PM.thu

De-select the "include round in stats" and/or "make round public" (as you prefer):

Screen_Shot_2015-10-06_at_5.47.00_PM.thu

So the round stays in your account, but won't count for your stats (first box) or be visible to others (second)--either one, or both, your choice.

Or delete, if you prefer.  But at least it's nice to have these options.

Crazy...they seem so secure; I would have difficulty even prying them out.  I guess vibrations do funny things.  Thanks for the heads-up.  I'll stop at Home Depot tomorrow and pick up some adhesive silicone and use that, just to make sure.  I needed it for the wedges anyway; those I could definitely see coming loose.

That is pretty cool - thank you.  I actually got a bit of a reprieve for work tomorrow, so I'm thinking I might go out and play the local 9-hole course for the sole purpose of testing (ie, playing around with) the GG.  Nice to have the option to keep the round but not "count" it for stats.

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

    • Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
