Struck it pretty well today (a few squirrelly tee shots but nothing that put me into trouble) but could not putt.  Also misjudged a couple of wedges that probably cost me a couple of strokes.

9 holes at the course near my office. Hit it pretty good, but for one hole where I hit the green with my second shot, but it spun of down to the deep rough (this is the hardest green on course, with water in front and OOB at the back, with the green sloping severely back to front). Ended on hole 9 with a brilliant i9 to 1.5 meter (1.7 yards or so).

me too, me too!  http://www.gamegolf.com/player/golfingdad/round/149917

Did not quite play as well as Mike and had a couple really stupid shots (a shank, a "Tiger" chip, and two horrendous 4-irons on a couple of the par 3's), but overall I was not displeased.  I still tended to miss left today, as I have the last few rounds, but I'm encouraged because I basically had zero flares, push-cuts, or blocks.  Driving was, by-and-large, solid.

Yesterday's round. Played pretty well by my standards, considering the rust and all, but it's probably due to the length. I'll take it though. Still can't putt. Also seem to have an aversion to scoring because I had a couple of holes where I was set up to put up a good number and that's when I would mess up the worst. I'm probably seeing something that's not really there, though.

I'll be playing here a few more times during the week, so let's see if familiarity brings my score down any.

Played today in the afternoon. It rained all day and was somewhere between drizzling and showering while I was on the course. Didn't hit it as well as I did yesterday. I felt I got lucky on a couple of tee shots: they looked like they were going to be lost, but somehow were still in play. Two big holes did me in, though.

Short game wasn't as good as yesterday, but I was sinking putts today, so the score ended up about the same. Funny game.

I mentioned it in the comments of yesterday's round, but these greens are really tiny. I don't expect the GIR numbers to go up anytime soon.

I wanted to highlight #8 from both rounds:

Yesterday:

Today:

I hit identical mis-hits on the tee shot and approach on two separate days on the same hole, with different clubs for each shot. Funny game.

Played much better today. Guess I was wrong about my GIR % not going up. The secret is to hit the ball long enough (or play a short enough course) so that your approach shots are with your putter :-D .

Hit less errant tee shots, too, but also managed to get out of trouble better today. Even hit GIR on #4 with a half swing 9i I needed to keep under some branches. Still a couple of cross-ups I need to clean up, like 2nd shot on #7 that faded into the pond instead of drawing into the green. If I can manage to make my misses less dramatic, I could play more consistently good golf.

Highlight of the day was on #8:

Last round of the trip, so I played a "real" course. Conditions were pretty decent. It was a bit chilly in the morning, but that quickly went away. Wind picked up once I made the turn and was a factor on the back 9. Course was still pretty soft as I expected, but greens were firm. I hit a couple of fat shots here and there because my club dug right into the soil.

Played better than I thought I would, actually. Made a quick adjustment to tee the ball up 1/4" higher with my driver because I was hitting low bullet hooks. Helped for a while and then I started hitting pushes that didn't draw. Except on 17, since that's the one hole you definitely don't want to hit left, I hit a pull draw. Then I teed it up again and hit a straight push into a tree.

Funny thing, I thought I hit 5i on my approach on 18. Found out when I was editing my round that I hit 6i. Was wondering why I hit it short, even though I flushed it.

I was afraid that the greens were going to be faster here than on Oak Trail which I've been playing all week and I was right. Took a little bit to get adjusted.

Highlight of the round:

3w was probably not the best choice for a 2nd shot, but whatever, I got away with it :-P

No crap, bill how are you getting to play in central nj?

I'm in FL on vacation. I hear it snowed back home.

Got my Game Golf on Thursday and managed to play two rounds since.  I rushed through the editing part too much and didn't realize until I looked later how much editing you have to do to make it accurate.  Both of these rounds are good examples of somehow scoring much better than I played.

Conditions were awful! It rained for two days straight before Christmas and the entire course was soaked. Half of my tee shots were plugged. Here I thought it was wet in FL; at least the soil is sandy there and drains well. It was all carry distance today.

Oh and there was a ton of goose feces everywhere, including on the greens. I'm not going to say it affected my putting, though.

Made one swing adjustment on the 5th hole and it was like someone turned the light switch on. I don't know how or why (I have video and can't see much difference) but for some reason I started hitting it better and less erratically. Shot +7 on the first four holes and +2 on the last five.

Finally hit this green, which I'm pretty proud of.

Played decent today, but it didn't really matter either way - I was golfing and not working. http://www.gamegolf.com/player/golfingdad/round/190822

Wind was crazy today. I had a short drive of 245, and a long drive of 364. Wind was around 20mph. It was definitely a good test of skill, when comes to playing the elements, keeping my trajectory low, and controlling my swing speed. Swinging hard in the wind is bad.
