I'm not sure I added this to my previous list. I've been listening to "Waking up with Sam Harris". He interviews a lot of people over a lot of topics. Primarily more in psychology, sociology, biology, and physics. He had a recent interview with Gavin De Becker, an expert on violence. This podcast was titled, "Living With Violence". Gavin goes on about different subjects about violence and how people should be aware and trust their instincts more. It was a very good episode.

Another really good episode was an interview with Geoffrey West, the episode titled "From Cells to Cities." It describes how a lot around us obeys these scaling laws. That as things grow you can predict with decent accuracy certain characteristics. A lot of biology obeys these laws, including lifespan. As well as human constructs like cities.

S-Town...ha, where do I begin?

I live in Tuscaloosa, AL, but grew up just a few miles from Woodstock, AL.  However, most of my dad's side of the family are in and around that town, so I've spent a lot of time there (grew up going to church there), and still do on occasion.  I know some of the characters in it, and one of them (a pretty central female character) is a close cousin whom I've known very well my whole life (she's a great lady!).  I finally talked to her about it a month or so back--last time I saw her.  So that podcast is kinda surreal for me.  Such a tiny little place to be known so globally, now.

While I do have some more backstory and interesting stuff not in the podcast, the people I've talked to tend a little uncomfortable towards much of it, so I haven't asked about some things, and thus not privy to any major secrets. ;-)

A new podcast I added to my library is "The Rewatchables". It's a podcast created by Bill Simmons where they discuss a movie that might be rewatchable today. They also delve into topics like, what has aged the best, what has aged the worst, is this the actors mount rushmore of movie performances, etc...

I listened to the entirety of Dirty John, a podcast from the LA Times that they pitched as ort of a Serial-type show. The story was fine but I can't say I enjoyed it on balance. It should have been 2 episodes, not 6. All of the people have such obnoxious voices, and they REALLY steered into the NPR/Serial production style, nearing the point of parody.

I also started listening to Dissect, a really cool music podcast.

And I'd like to give a shout out to the Poscast, which everyone and their mother should be listening to.
