I try to bring information that I feel would be relevant to the thread. It's nothing personal. Just discussion.

Bringing information to make it relevant to the thread is good and all but when you say,

From what I understand she wanted children, a home and good life.

That implies that you have become aware of some information that you inferred means she wants children, a home, and a good life.  I want to know where you found that information so as to infer it.

Upstate - near Rochester.

Moved in 2000.

Ahh, ok.

I'm not sure why you're answering a question with a question.  I would simply like you to answer the following question:

What information are you aware of which allows you to inferred that she wants children, a home, and a good life?

And, let me guess, you live down state?

I'm from downstate but currently live in Albany.

I am aware that most women enter a marriage looking for stability, as do men. The things I mentioned are trademarks of stability. My brother lived in Albany for a while then moved to Binghamton. I loved NY, just could not take the winters any longer.

I do hope you realize that we are not laughing WITH you. And therefore . . . As if your opinion means absolutely anything to me? Who the hell are you?

Firstly, I would never take anything you say as a shot (personally), but thanks for calling that out. Same thing goes for my posts.

I have to speak for the woman in this thread because her “metaphorical voice” was lost once her revealing pictures were posted in this thread. At that exact moment, she became the harlot, and the Dufner in this relationship that people started labeling as the catalyst to divorce. I still think to this very day Jason posted those pics just to be a douche bag. Who else would take a picture of her wearing a two piece and swinging a golf club, her Dad?

Maybe he’s heartbroken – I doubt it. He lost a bunch of weight so he start preparing to play the field again. Trust me, it won’t be long before you see pictures of him walking along the beach with a new girl, the ocean in the background and both of them frolicking while stepping on ass necks and piss clams.

Jason is in the same boat as chef, Bobby Flay (an avid golfer). He’s got a hot wife, been married for 10 years and they are now splitting up.

And I can see it as completely different. That he was on a diet because she was badmouthing him, calling him names and suggesting he lose weight because she is embarrased by the distgusting look of his stomach. He did so to try and save the marriage because he had no clue that his weight bothered her. She admitted so only after a time. He said, I will  do whatever it takes to make it work. Her reply : Lose that stomach FATT AZZ, your making me look bad, you know how much I want a career and you are ruining ME !

She probably made him sleep on the couch, checked his weight each day. When he didn't lose a pound she would break out in a fury throwing things about the house, then break down and cry.... Screaming... I hate this life, I hate you, I don't know why I would even marry a man like you, or should I say "not a man, a whale"

Her last speech to him probably went something like : I have to start all over now, you know, we could have been a POWER couple like Dustin and gretsky, jetsetting around the world, living the high life, meeting royalty like the Kardashians... :) Maybe even have a place in L.A.... But no ! You want a family, kids, a DOG ! A house in ALABAMA ? Who wants that ? Not me !

Jason : You said you wanted all those things too... Remember when you said 4 kids ? 2 dogs ? I even brought 2 maids in here to clean and cook so oyu wouldn't have to lift a finger and all you do is complain about being bored, about my stomach and about my career... I can't win a major every year you know.

Amanda : You promise me you could, you said you would win at least once a year and try to make it a major  ? Now look at you, Top 50 in the World, BIG DEAL... Anyone can do that. You lied to me ! YOu know, that would or could be grounds for divorce ?

Jason : I told you I would try, "for you" " I love you and would do anything for you"

Amanda : Love ? Love ? You call being in the top 100 LOVE ? If you loved me you would be the best in the world. It shows how little you care. You wouldn't have won the first major had I not came along. I made you a better man and now you do nothing in return.

All I want is what I deserve, 2.5M is what I should get, if not more.... You make me look like a loser....

Meanwhile : broken hearted Jason talks with family and explains : I know you all told me, I still fell for it. I am so sorry and promise to meet a "GOOD GIRL" next time...

I do understand covering for the ladies on the site. I am sure there are many fine ones and figure most golfers to have great wives, many that have put up with lots of BS through the years. My comments are NEVER in general to a golfers wife. But to Amanda, this is how she looks, she looks like every wife or ex wife on beverly hill or NYC housewives. ALl play that same game, meet the millionaire, woo him, give him 2 - 7 years. Then complain how non compatable they are... Same game, different women... She fits the bill 100 % Furyk wife, or Phil's wife, jack, arnie, etc. all great women. So was tigers wife, a sweetheart. Does not mean that with time they could not have problems. Certainly, they were never an Amanda...

Why ? Did I miss something ? I think from watching housewives of NYC and beverlyhills, etc. "with my wife" I tend to see these women a lot. So many money grubbers, not all of them, but you can pick them out easily. Like the one who wrote a book after her X committed suicide...

I pop back into this thread every now and again so that I can get angry and have enough energy to do things. It's great fuel. But on topic: we have no evidence. We've never had any evidence. I'm not using stereotypes to make judgements on people who I don't know. I think that's the most fair way to deal with this.

Yes that's a wonderfully PC attitude ok, ok. But what do need as evidence? The only stereotype is that Jason is well...average at best and Amanda is a total babe. I'll agree that that's a stereotype judgement although in the gold digging world usually the case. What would be present in a relationship that is suspect for financial/status gain in your opinion?

Lots of guys lose weight in the midst of divorce, not to prepare themselves for dating again, that would be foolish so soon after a marriage.

They lose weight because they are upset, depressed, trying to understand what happened, and can't believe this divorce is happening.

I take it Jason was not exactly happy... lots of lost weight.

But who knows? It's purely a guess.

What in God's holy name are you blathering about? He went on a diet because he had a disease that caused inflammation and he needed to change his diet to reduce the triggers so he could keep golfing. Same as Phil Mickelson.

Is this Dufner fan fiction?

@Ferguson-What are the names of the copious medication you must take daily, and how often do you forget to take them?

You are not a medical doctor. The picture is not you. Please for humanity let me be right about that-I refuse to believe that anyone would license anyone like you to practice medicine on anyone. Or even paint their house.

He's a doctor or an identity thief.

This is actually a reasonable point. 4 clicks of googling makes that pretty clear.

Very true...and I would venture to suggest (sorry if already posted, but already spent too much time reading this thread not going through all 30 pages) that he may have lost weight to help his neck/back disc issues and surgery.

    • Meanwhile, another old Tour Edge guy switches to Callaway for this season. I have a different problem, course dependent set-ups. What I’m wondering is if @dragonsmhas the 8 iron set 5-PW, AW, GW or just 5-PW, GW. Because the PW is 42°, AW 47°, and GW 52°. Because that could potentially be a gap there. The 5-iron to 6-iron length jump is 5/8” instead of 1/2” so you should be careful of that.    @WUTiger the problem most people have with 3-woods is they don’t play them far enough back into their stance. And they usually don’t have enough loft and the shaft is too long. So 3HL, 4 or 5-wood is probably better for most golfers. I do the “Frankenwood” approach. I have both the 3+ and 5 woods. I typically will either add two degrees to the 3+ on 6600 yards or longer courses, or take a degree off the 5-wood on shorter courses than 6300 or so, and use the 5-wood shaft for both. I don’t usually find a situation where I need both the 3 and 5 wood on a course. I don’t play from 7000 yards it’s no fun. Edit: I mostly agree with @WUTiger on the gapping, although a lot of the newer even fixed hosel fairway woods are made better than what we had when we were playing the old Exotics XRails.

    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
