Jason Dufner

Is a Good Guy.

She had the opportunity to Get Paid!

She took the cash!

Dufner is not the First or the last.

She was a Mercedes

He was a Kia

Enough Said

Even when you write it in iambic pentameter, it's still really sexist.

It takes two to Tango but I am leaning toward Shorty's sentiment.

I am sure there is no doubt he is an elite person, as in, now feels that way after climbing into the top 50 and winning a major. Yes, it takes two.

Which one wants to be in front of the camera ?

Which one makes the money ?

Which one has a back ground of wanting the lime light ?

Did Jason chase the camera around for the 10 years prior to 2012 ?

I can say, he got what he asked for.... Big money brings out the cash ladies... It is something you see a lot of in Major sports. Look at football, think the stats I heard were 70% of all players were divorced within 3 years of retirement ? They were living one life, now it has to change and things get different. In this case, she is really hot, so you know she is getting feelers for things like PLAYBOY, a bit in a movie.. He may have thought he was marrying the girl next door, or that of which she pretended to be post marriage.

state it now - Bet she ends up with her clothes off... Just an opinion...

Welcome to TST. I'm sorry you feel such a negative way about the entire site because there is so much more to it. Good things and bad things, just like in real life interactions with different types of people.

I agree that there's an unfortunate element of negativity on this site, but there are also many good posters and positive thinkers.

Stick around a bit, maybe you'll find the right group with which to interact.

I am curious if this is felt because some tell it like it is, tell the truth when many don't really want to here it ?

Like watching VICE on HBO... So many things on that show the christian southern folk would never want their kids to watch. Like global warming, or human trafficing around the world. latest is the baby mills in India. I want my kid "17" to know what is real and what is not. I guess some have the oppurtunity to hide it all and keep their kids in the Country Club. I would consider it too if I was at that level.

In another breath.. If you had a 22 year old that was graduating from Georgia and was 5th in the NCAA total score as a Senior.

Would you tell him to :  Watch out for girls like this ?

I don't think anyone is ever trying to be mean. Although I don't read all threads and comments. Guess there has to be some bickering... I just hope no one ever takes any of my posts as a shot, or a put down. Always just opinions. It is amazing how often telling it like you see it turns out to be the truth. Most never want to state the truth, then when it finally comes out, they have no comment.

Girls like what? You have no reason to be talking about this woman the way you are. You're making huge assumptions based on your own stereotypes.

I should make a card game called jump to conclusions. Moderator draws a card that has a scenario described on it, and your objective will be to come up with a technically sane, but baseless conclusion. The crazier your leap of logic, the higher your score. There will be some natural winners on this thread

You're just being a troll. Why do you bother?

If you care to talk about golf or related topics, great. Otherwise, I hope you revise your worldview in light of it being 2015.

It must feel nice to be able to just pull, out of thin air (and certain orifices), a conclusion about who Amanda Dufner is.

She used him and got paid!  Most people on this board agree with me

First of all, no they don't. Most of us think that there is not enough information to make an informed decision. Some of us even think it's pretty repugnant and sexist to assume that she is a gold digger, because we aren't awful.

And even if they did all agree with you, it doesn't make you even less wrong (or repugnant!). I can think of many times where the majority believed something that was unequivocally false.

I hope you've never wanted to see a woman naked, or looked at porn, or anything that involved sex, because if you have, you are the worst kind of hypocrite.

And if she does end up doing porn or Playboy, it's none of your damn business. Y'all need to stop policing women's bodies and start doing, like, anything else.

Sure, but time figures into the merit of a marriage in any divorce settlement. The word "real" can also be used to mean something treated in a serious manner.

@Lihu , the comments made were not about the size of alimony payments. The courts are taking the marriage "seriously."

You're right in that the amount of information we have is limited.  What we do know is that she's walking away with $2.5M after 3 years of marriage that she likely wouldn't have had if she didn't marry Jason.  They don't have kids and I haven't seen any mention of her sacrificing a career so she could travel the world to cheer on her husband.  Actually her marriage has probably helped launch her modeling / whatever career she plans to pursue since no one would even know who she was if she wasn't married to Dufner.

As for being sexist, sorry, I'd say the same thing if it was a good looking guy that was divorcing a famous, not so good looking, woman and walking away with $2.5M after three years.

I'm glad for that, because it seems like too many people don't.

    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
