An honest question: Does ANYONE actually like Patrick Reed? Like does he have any fans..at all?

I like him any other weekend but this one. He's killing me in fantasy points. Really should have thrown him in there.

Aside from being overweight, he's exactly what I like to see in a golfer. Fiery, extremely competitive, speaks his mind.

He was absolutely fantastic at the Ryder Cup.

Like ? No. But I don't mind him. I'd take one Patrick Reed over two dozen Jamie Lovemarks.

Crickets[/quote] Ok I'll bite. I like tourneys when Reed is in contention. He's compelling. Way better than many faceless guys without personality. When he's near the lead, the tourney is enhanced. I'll take him on our Ryder Cup side anytime. Guy has determination. He laughs at himself at times too. There was a classic "Shush" pic with the Euros after the Ryder Cup when he travelled to play Euro event later. Was a good sport. Am I a fan by those criteria?

Mickelson teed off at 4:33. He's just now teeing off on 18. El Pato must be going crazy.

Well they've all had really poor days, unfortunately.

When I was a young PGA apprentice member in 1970 at PGA Business School, a requirement for later PGA membership, we were told to be nice when playing tournaments in the outbacks of America. When a member asked you what you thought about your round in their corner of Heaven, tell them, "It's a sporty little layout." That's code for "someone really messed up a good goat ranch."

Such are my thoughts about this week's layout along the train tracks of Chambers Bay in Washington state. Chambers Bay really is a terrible version of a goat ranch in the Pacific Northwest. The goats must be chuckling.

Is this the most polarizing course of all time?

I'd really like to play it. It looks extremely difficult, but fun. The hole where the train goes beside the green is just an awesome view and tribute to that area.

Does anyone remember that Labyrinth game from years ago where you had this box with a board over which you had to guide a ball bearing through a field of holes by turning knobs that tilted the board the ball was on? That is what Chamber Bay reminds me of.

No.

I loved it when i played it. So many options on how to play it. Difficult but not over the top. Plenty of shorter tee boxes that makes it very playable. Its alot of fun. Visually stunning. But spendy...

Spieth could be leading this thing solo at the end of the day as tough as 17 and 18 are playing.

.....maybe not as Reed pulls off the hero shot at 16.

Keegan Bradley, Colin Montgomerie, Chris Kirk, Webb Simpson, and Brooks Koepka. Three of them need to bogey one of their last two holes for the cut to move to +5.

    • Day 107 - More pitching practice, playing around with trajectory.
    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
