LKo wins  tourney in Daly City, California in playoff with MPressel.  Hot BHenderson of Canada, only 17 yrs, takes 3rd place alone.  Ko just finished 18 th birthday party so not much older than BH.

Ko hit it close and sank the putts, that's the story.  Payout for Ko $300k.

Brooke played fine throughout and should be rightly proud of her contending and placement.  It is difficult to finish the deal the first time. The experience gained will stand her in good stead. Expect her to break through this year. And I also expect that she will be full time LPGA in 2016 perhaps not even going through   Q school.  Between you, me, and the graveyard, she is our hope for the Olympics in 2016.

Morgan Pressel had two chances to win on the 18th hole: one during the regulation and one on the first playoff hole.  But, alas, it wasn't meant to be.  Great finish by Ko though.  It's amazing what she has done at the age of barely 18.

Luv that!  Studette.  Once upon a time we had 'cheesecake', then when men took of some clothes to model,  we had 'beefcake'.  Now, studette, implying a female stud.  I strongly suspect LKo is a very normal 18 yr old female who happens to excel at a complex motor skill and enjoys the pressure of competition.   Go Girl.

This is referring to Lydia's next tournament...

"No. 1 Lydia Ko announced in her AM press conf that she'll donate her winnings at this wk's event to Nepal Earthquake relief."

Way to go, Ko!

She looks like the next Sorenstam or Ochoa.    After Ochoa, players could not hold on to #1 rankings for long, relatively speaking I mean.  In those years, A Miyazato, Shin, Yani, Stacy, Park, all had their turns but they could not extend their reign for more than a year or two.  Ko looks like she can go 10 years being in #1 unless something happens.
