I did not post yesterday so am breaking the rules here. Yesterday and today I worked on my backswing in the mirror for approximately 15-20 minutes. My focus was on two things - 1) my right elbow - folding early and tight to my body, and 2) my right wrist cocking. I had noticed that in weakening my right hand in the grip allowed for a better cocking which led to better right wrist action in the downswing. Basically to have my wrist position where I wanted I had to rotate my forearms too much. The new position allows for less rotation and then less casting and more lag on the downswing. Last I worked on my transition and a new feel of keeping my elbows tight and rotating more on the downswing. This feel led to extremely good driving the other day, so now I want to try it with my irons too.

Spent some time this evening working on my backswing piece and the flattening of the club in transition.

Practiced for 5-10 minutes at home. Did some slow mapping swings with a heavy club, then some fast swings with a regular club and more fast ones with just a shaft.

Practiced for 40 mins following 18 holes today. Went through the bag, making slow, full swings in the nets, working on Key #3.

Spent 10 minutes in the backyard working on a flatter downswing by hitting foam balls into a soccer net. Unfortunately, I did not get any practice in yesterday so ....

5/3 spent 5 minutes doing slow swings concentrating on keeping my weight more I'm my heels and less in my toes. One of my besetting sins is getting my weight too far forward which causes all kinds of trouble.

Annoyingly, I've only just seen this so you'll have to rely on my good will if I am to get a badge ( O:) ). Either way, it's a great idea and one I'm happy to join in with.

Friday 1st May - nipped out for nine holes after work. Played ok, but still struggled with distance control when putting. A few complete mishits, too, but generally iron play much improved.

Saturday 2nd May - spent a really good two and a half hours practising putting - distance control between 6 and 40 feet, pitching technique - trying to tone down how active my swing is and simplify everything and a bit of range work on the full swing. With the evolvr tips, ball flight is much improved and getting higher and bad shots are far less frequent.

Sunday 3rd May - played in a competition and placed 3rd with a round of 82 (net 70, SSS 73 - http://www.gamegolf.com/player/benpage101/round/303660). Really happy and could have been even better after a shocker of a front nine with 3 double bogeys.

Today: Spent another 30 minutes this morning practising pitching and chipping from greenside rough with different clubs, trying to control landing point and rollout. Definite improvement with the better pitching technique. Also did a bit of bunker work focusing on sternum forward. This afternoon I'll head to the nets for some more work on the evolvr feedback (feeling head going up and right) with deliberate and slow swings.

Sorry I'm late, but hopefully the detail proves I have done it!

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Did my practice this morning while I waited for the gf to get ready to ride into work together.  Had a club but no ball this morning and worked on dropping the clubhead after my backswing in order better my path on the downswing.  Did some slow swings since they were indoors, probably at 20% speed.  Trying to ingrain that feeling.

Worked on backswing issues in the office for 5 min.

Trying to focus on centered backswing.  Feel of my right pocket moving toward the target on the backswing.  Something @mvmac had given me to work on in the past.

I did not post yesterday so am breaking the rules here. Yesterday and today…

You're not breaking any rules, you just won't get a badge at the end of the month…

I'm doing my five minutes later today. I'll post about it after I do it, though.

Went to the range and also worked on my centered backswing. It's slow progress but my ball striking is improving.

I'm sounding like a broken record at this point but I spent 5 minutes this morning working on that same 'weight back' feeling (not all the way into the heels, but out of the toes). To spice things up a bit I I also tried to pay attention to not setting up too close to the ball.

    • Day 112 - Worked on pitching for a bit, letting the club fall while turning my body.
    • Just want to share a quick update with everyone. I went to the range the week before last, even though I took it easy no significant pain occurred just a slight twinge when I swung my #4 hybrid. The most encouraging news was no soreness the next morning. However I think switching back to graphite shafts is definitely gonna happen, my mp15's were fitted with X shafts and having something lighter will help.
