Quote:
JUPITER ISLAND, FL—Explaining that the pressures of their day-to-day commitments had given them no other choice but to end their three-year relationship, golf star Tiger Woods and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn released a joint statement Wednesday blaming their breakup on their hectic sex lives. “We’ll always share mutual admiration and respect for one another, but the reality is that our individual schedules have us ****ing people in different cities around the world over 40 weeks out of the year,” the statement read, which went on to say that Woods and Vonn are each so busy running around riding rock-hard cock and deep-dicking tight, dripping-wet ***** that it is virtually impossible to devote adequate attention to their relationship. “We’ll have a couple days alone here or there, but then Lindsey will head to the airport for a three-day gang bang at a Switzerland ski resort, or Tiger will line up a few amateur fetish models in Miami and be gone for two weeks. By the time we get a few moments to ourselves, we barely have the energy to get on the sex swing together and **** all night.” The pair added that they will always cherish the memories they made while double-fisting each other in front of a group of their closest friends.

Stretch.

I realize the bar is very, very low, but most of you folks are far, far better people than I.  It is way too much fun to speculate about El Tigre's "transgressions", if only so I can feel just a bit better than him in one small way!

My take:  His dad was a serial philanderer and the apple does not fall far from the tree.  The reports elsewhere (prior to this Daily Mail report) were that he'd confessed his misbehavior to her at the outset of their relationship and she was willing to give it a go.  She then caught him fairly early on and, after he begged her to forgive him and promised to clean up his act, he backslid.  This was not a one-time deal by any stretch of the imagination.

My secondary take:  I could really care less, aside from the mild entertainment value.  I loved watching him play golf better than anyone else ever played the game and am equally fascinated with his sisyphean task of trying to regain some semblance of his game.

On that last note, I am a bit weary of some analysts suggesting the driving problem is relatively new.  It has been going on since shortly before he left Butch Harmon.  Then, it was described as getting stuck.  And then it got worse with Haney -- he never, ever drove the ball well with Haney.  We can talk about short game yips (which seem to be corrected ) but what he really has is driver yips. And given how long he has fought with them, I don't know that he will ever solve the problem.

Here too.

I knew when he said he "popped a bone back in" @ Augusta he wasn't exactly talking about his wrist.

Quote:

Tiger Woods' three-year relationship with Lindsey Vonn ended when the PGA Tour star confessed to the Olympic skier that he had cheated on her, according to a story May 12 by The Daily Mail of London.

Dailymail.com cited an anonymous source whom it described as "a close friend" to the golfer. Woods and Vonn mutually announced the end of their romance May 5 , with each citing demanding schedules. A few weeks earlier, Vonn had accompanied Woods to the Masters in Augusta, Ga.

According to the Dailymail.com report, Woods admitted to Vonn of a dalliance after having been spotted with another woman in February, after he withdrew 12 holes into his round at the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego.

From the Dailymail.com

Lindsey Vonn (pictured getting coffee on Tuesday right) announced on May 3 that she and Tiger Woods split after three years because 'incredibly hectic lives' forced them to spend too much time apart. But after getting cut from The Farmer's Insurance Classic last February Tiger sought solace in the arms of a 'nameless' woman, a close friend reveals to Daily Mail Online. Tiger (left) has a history of paying high-priced prostitutes for sex. A former Hollywood madame revealed that between 2006 and 2007 Tiger paid upwards of $40,000 for six 'pay-for-sex dates'. The friend tells Daily Mail Online he doesn't even see it as cheating. 'It's just a stress reliever, like a high-ball or two after a bad day.'

It seems like this close friend has a lot to say:

Quote:

'He withdrew from Farmers. You have to understand, while it's not right, it's not really wrong either. Tiger isn't married. He doesn't really drink or do drugs. So what else does he have when he can't afford to lose again? He is allowed to find some relief.

'Most men would drink over such losses.Tiger has sex over it. Usually with local hookers whom he pays exorbitant amounts to, probably so they will want repeat business and won't tell.'

Michelle Braun, a former Hollywood madame revealed that between 2006 and 2007 Tiger paid upwards of $40,000 for six 'pay-for-sex dates.'

But this time he was spotted with the woman.

'When Tiger realized he was seen, he became concerned and eventually he decided to confess to Lindsey. Something he didn't do with Elin. He came clean and I give him credit for that.

'Yes, Tiger cheated again. But it wasn't with anyone special. He really wanted Lindsey to be the one. But he blew it again. He can't help himself. He's got an addiction. He relapsed,' says the friend.

'Knowing Tiger, he doesn't even see it as cheating because there's no romance or feeling there. It's just a stress reliever, like a high-ball or two after a bad day.'

The friend tells Daily Mail Online that despite pleas from peers and relatives to keep going to his self-mandated therapy sessions, Tiger stopped going completely -- leading to the alleged 'one-time slip'.

There is so much more on the site, it looks like this friend took his time to just say everything he knows..  Let us see if anyone in Tigers camp or maybe Tiger himself comes out to deny all this or not.. It sure has taken a very familiar turn for Tiger..  This time at least he knows how to deal with it right?

What a rip off!  He pays $40k for sex and for the skanks to shut the hell up and then gets ratted out by a "friend."

He should have gassed up the G5 and hit up Dubai or Abu Dhabi.  He would be anonymous over there and could save some money (except for the jet fuel to get there).

Again, if this is true I say big deal, so the guy likes sex? so does every healthy person, being appalled over this is just silly.

Also, this is very personal stuff and should not be a story IMO, so again if true, those that tell and spread this garbage are much more disgusting to me than a guy wanting to get laid.

Is it just me or is the whole Tiger thing starting to feel like an episode of Jeremy Kyle (or Jerry Springer for those accross the pond)?

It annoys me to read the sports pages and see Tiger's private life as main headline and footnote about the poor 11 year old lad from Scotland (he was a stock car World Champ) who tragically lost his fight for life after serious injuries.

I never subscribed to the pretty press releases, almost identical by both Vonn and Tiger about their break up. There are many celebrities with similar work schedules.

This man has issues, once the initial break up announced I said to my wife, "you know people are mistaken with the idea that you can go out and commit adultery and demonstrate abusiveness to women sexually, time and time again- while your wife is home pregnant and with an infant. This is flawed behavior and can not be simply turned off like a light switch"

She reminded me this morning of this, sending me the same links. If they are true....It comes as no surprise.

Well, it isn't about him liking sex.. We all do.. It's about his character that's all.. If you see no issue with men paying for sex then that's fine, but if you don't understand why some of us find it disgusting then that's strange.. Yes, he is paying a lot more than the other scum bags that pay for sex (supposedly they are higher class hookers) but in the end he is supporting the trade that degrades women.. Yes, some women have chosen this trade, but most probably do it out of the necessity to live. Also, you think the people who tell the story are more disgusting than the person paying for hookers? That's strange..

There are lots of celebrities who break up, too, and after much shorter relationships.

Way to assume something from the Daily Mail is true…

I'm not specifically talking about this report alone.. Are you saying that Tiger has never paid for sex?

It's one thing to obsess over Tiger Woods's golf game, what's in the golf bag, what kind of shoes he's wearing, even over his polo shirts. But when the obsession veers into another man's sex life, a line has been crossed IMO.

I see no point in discussing old stuff, Eyad, particularly since I didn't care to discuss it years ago when it was in the news the first time.

    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
    • I would think that 3 in a row with the same players might get some behind the scenes examination from the SCGA if they were suspect.  Are there any clubs questioning the results?
    • What simple fact? A golf match is not a coin flip — there is a fact for you. I'm trying to help you, and you're throwing out what could easily be called sour grapes. Come with FACTS, not weak analogies. Then you've got nothing. Hopefully they've done a better job of making their case. 😛
    • It's pretty close. The odds of a 50/50 shot going your way 21 times are greater than 1 in a million!  I guess your point is, that simple fact is not enough to declare these guys dirty rotten sandbaggers. I disagree, but fair enough. I posted it here on the message board to get different perspectives, after all.  I probably won't be digging further into specific scores. I have no dog in this fight beyond a generalized contempt for sandbagging. With that said, it would not surprise if a lot of clubs shared my concern and were grousing about it to the SCGA.
