Imagine if Rory were to win this. That would make him the Open Champion, WGC-Bridgestone champion, PGA Champion, World Match Play champion and Players champion. Now I know he's no Tiger Woods, but at the same time...damn..... that would be mighty impressive.

Could we declare the Spieth Era over then?

Well, I can tell you what Rory thinks of this "Spieth era" talk, and instead of using words, he's using actions.

lol we can this weekend. I suspect we will see more of this from him in the coming months. He seems to scramble an awful lot. When he isn't "on" it's a tough way to play golf.

I didn't get to see it, but why did Rory go for the green (he ended up in the water) when he was way right in the rough? Did he have an extremely good lie or something?

Oldass Jerry Kelly! Wow!

Rather not see him in the lead (Na either for that matter)- would rather see a shoot out with the worlds' best and up and comers (McIlroy, Fowler, Stenson). Right now Na, Kelly, Grace, Hearn, Kirk ---and Fowler.....not the greatest leaderboard by any means.....I know, there's a lot of golf left.

Yeah but he's cool as hell dogg. --------- When Ricky Barnes goes from tied for second earlier in the day to missing the cut. :-O

No doubt he has a knack for making doubles when he looks to be gaining steam. Especially on Sunday and usually doing something crazy. He's got a little Tin Cup in him.

Yes, but his putter eventually fails him ...

I don't find this tourney particularly interesting for some reason ... though if Fowler would read putts with his feet and not his eyes (as he said on 17), it might prove otherwise. Lots of failures out there. But I don't find US Opens particularly interesting either ... maybe this reminds me of an Open. Lots of fail...

Indeed, moving day tomorrow. I expect Rory to go real low.

I like it and really don't care who is at the top. All these guys are good. But there is kind of a weird vibe today. Lot's of sad-sacks out there after getting beat up. Other than a coupe hot rounds the course is holding it's own. I am not surprised someone like NA is up there with his deliberate style. The hit and chase guys are the ones struggling.

And the difference between Tiger and most of the rest of the crowd. Tiger is at even after two sub-par rounds. With his C+ game he's even. C+ for other guys means missing the cut by 6 strokes

Few things:

-Tiger needs more reps. Not playing until the Memorial is not gonna let him fair well for Chambers Bay.

-I dont care what anyone says; I like and respect Kevin Na. Dude has some game. Kinda a crazy person, but respect him going through all the boos and rising.

-As most have said, this leaderboard is magoooo.

-Ian Poulter is an utter jackass and I wish nothing but the worst for him in his career going forward.

-Despite the overall playing field; I don't get the hype of this tournament and more so this course. Sawgrass doesnt do it for me. Too gimmicky.

-Here's to a 66 for Rory tomorrow.

The question though is...will this C+ game become a normal thing?

Nice post.

I like Na a lot. He's weird but, we're all a little weird right?

I laughed at magooo.

F*ck Poulter.

I like Sawgrass, I don't know, I kind of like gimmicky courses.

Cheers to Rory shooting a 66

    • It's been a little more than a year since I can last remember hitting golf balls and today I just got my second cortisone injection in 11 months. I thought maybe shortly after the first injection I was going to be able to start playing again with therapy but the pain while doing my backswing past halfway just didn't subside like just lifting my hands up in the air did. So today the Orthopedic surgeon put more in the backside of the shoulder than before to address the tendon more. I'm going to try therapy for another 3 months and if I  can't swing the club without pain then I think surgery is going to be my next option.
    • I was just down visiting family in southern California and we played a couple rounds of golf. I hit my ball into the deep rough near some tree's and my cousin's husband offered me his Sim 2 Rescue Hybrid to try out. And I felt the same way, wow! I loved it, it also had a Pure DTX grip on it which I loved. As soon as I got back home, I ended up buying two used Calloway Rogue X hybrids, 3 and 5. So far I've only tested them out at the range, but I love them. They're much more forgiving than irons for me.
