So Phil's fitness commitment is moving in the right direction.  Good for him, clear results.

Is this sarcasm or is he doing well?

He double bogey'd the 8th. And then birdied the 9th.

Makes the turn at +1. Could definitely be worse!

Comeon', Tiger!!

Sure feels like the tour as a whole is playing much better. Yes, we have the occassional WD and guys start playing bad +5 day one and could care less day 2. Overall - it sure feels like many are going low and the amount of guys under par and competing is awesome...  Usually we have the crowd in the E - +3 range were now it is -1 - -3... 2 weeks ago too. GUys are all raising their games and you have to be extra special to win or even get a top 10

No yips on that chip in for Tiger on 17. He's under par for the round! Didn't someone say earlier the wheels were coming off?

I didn't say the wheels are coming off, but I did say to expect a rusty performance this week. And from the looks of today, that's exactly what it is so far.

Eavesdropping on conversation between Ryan Palmer and G-Mac early this a.m......they were talking about the newest sensation Jordan Spieth....Palmer compared him to Fowler's hype over the last couple of years.  Didn't sound like Palmer believed Spieth "was the real thing" but kind of manufactured.  G-Mac seemed to agree and said he wasn't "into all that stuff".....to me, sounded like jealously on Palmer's part.  Kind of surprised to hear the conversation three holes into play......you'd think the would have other things on their mind.

Thats odd because Spieth at least has a Major to Rickie's goose egg. Spieth is definitely the real deal. He ain't goin away. I do still have a small glimmer of faith in Rickie however.

(I know you were just relaying what they were talking about....not coming at you lol)

I almost sounded like G-mac was saying he was happy to have someone get all the focus  - that he was happy with being in the shadows.  There's a lot of responsibility and pressure that goes with being the next great one . I'm sure many on tour are content not having to deal with all the demands - as long as they get their share w/ a win now and than.

Brandel with some (hilarious) insight as to why Tiger struggled so much today

Not sure what's so hilarious about it. I thought he was pretty spot on. He wasn't ridiculing Tiger. He was just pointing out that he's not as straight on his drives as he is his irons. I tend to agree with him. He's still not where he needs to be with his driver. Really needs to focus on getting that part of his game straightened out. That drive on 18 was bad and cost him a good round.

    • Do you have a system where the loan is paid back at a certain percentage of salary once it reaches a certain level? This is how HECS (Higher Education Contribution Scheme) works in Australia. HECS-HELP has two components - it is both a loan and a student discount. ... Loan repayments are then made through the Australian taxation system when your income reaches a certain threshold ($46,620 for the 2020-21 financial year). It is possible to make voluntary repayments at any time regardless of income.
    • 1. It’s not asinine to think people should be held accountable for their decisions. Life isn’t fair. Again, people should seek wise council before making big decisions.    2. agreed that colleges take advantage of people, but it doesn’t excuse people from the consequences of their choices. I don’t think adults of sound mind can play the victim because they didn’t do their due diligence in researching their options before signing the dotted line.  3. It wasn’t a jump to make the inference from his comment. His comment was that if they would have to drop out if they didn’t have the loan. But his position was that they should be able to go anyway…to me, and I certainly could have misinterpreted his point, it seems he was saying they should be able to go regardless. To me, that sounds as if he was conveying  that people are entitled to go regardless of their ability to pay.    I 100% agreed that the system needs reform, I just disagree that loans should be forgiven. I don’t think you or I will change our minds on that. We just fundamentally disagree on the extent of someone’s personal responsibility/accountability for their choices.
    • Sure it is, pending the situation.  You have an 18 year old, who doesn't need an parent to co-sign on a loan, being lured into signing for an expensive student loan by a college because they make it seem like its the best thing for them. So, they learn from their mistake, 10-15 years down the line when they realize the students loan debt was a bad idea?  The outcome of this decision isn't something you get instant return on as a learning situation. This isn't like placing your hand on a hot stove.  Why should the biggest mistake 17-19 year olds make be getting hit with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt? That is just asinine thinking really.  Really, colleges are bad faith actors who are swindling people out of money with no regulatory control.  It is even worse since you can not get rid of the student debt in bankruptcy. Guess what, in the end, bankruptcy is a form of loan forgiveness. You can file for bankruptcy, sell off your assets, and the courts decide to void out a good portion of the loan amount in a lot of cases. Except for students loan debt. Which is idiotic. What makes students loan debt so special?  What about this, you get your students loan forgiven, but it hits your credit score like any other bankruptcy? You choose, to work off your students loans, or take a hit to your credit score. I think that is fair.  No one is arguing they are entitled to a degree. How did you jump to that?  I think it is because they can't be for-profit. Also, state governments can control tuition.
    • Welcome to TST! Start with a local golf maintenance superintendent. See what their expertise is in creating a sand trap and the materials, cost, machinery, etc. They may also have a better idea of what landscape company may have that expertise. Or you may be able to hire out the maintenance staff at the course during the off season.
