Much better than China and ton of other countries. Anyone who says otherwise is clueless. What an idiotic statement.

In order to stay on topic, let's just ignore this. Nice pictures

Wow, hit and run. You insult my country then say stay on topic.

Listen, fall back, take several seats because I can take you to school on this issue, so don't push your luck. Taking what I said as an insult to "your" country shows a certain level of ignorance on issues of human right. If you wanna count the numbers of country truly worthy of sitting on that proverbial high horse, the U.S doesn't crack the top 4. Like I said earlier, let's keep this thread on topic.

P.S. It's not just your country, so fall the heck back.

I am kinda disappointed that MAJ is not in The Players, as I was hoping for a Thur/Fri pairing with Keegan.

I was hoping for a MAJ pairing with Woods. Miguel may have had something to say about Woods' generous hazard drop from a few years back when he won and something tells me he would NOT let him get away with that again :)

Padraig's note going into Thurs' round (from his FB).

I haven't played a tournament since the Masters which was three weeks ago.  I went on a family holiday to Orlando for a few days after Augusta and the rest of the time has been at home.  In those two weeks I have hit a lot of balls, in fact I have hit so many that I am coming away to a tournament to take a break!  I spent most of my time off workin g on staying in my shots more.  In the couple of games that I played I felt that my misses were much better.  In this game the quality of your good shots doesn't change much, it is the quality of your misses that you are constantly trying to improve.

This week is the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, the biggest event on the PGA schedule outside of the majors.  After all the practice I have done I am really looking forward to playing.  I arrived here on Monday evening as I was at Ross Desmond's wedding over the weekend.  Having played here many times I didn't mind missing a days practice.  On Tuesday morning I did some filming for Wilson with their 2016 line, which looked great.  In the afternoon I hit a few shots on the range with Pete Cowen and then payed 12 holes with Shane Lowry.  The course is in great condition as you would expect.  The fairways are a little softer than normal but other than that there isn't a blade of grass out of place.  The most noticeable change from when I was here last in 2013 is the amount of grain in the grass around the greens and the fact that it is cut into you.  This makes chipping very tough and you will see more chips shots duffed and hit past the hole this week than any other event during the year.  I personally will be putting whenever I can.

On Wednesday I played the back nine with Shane and took some of his money which is always nice.  It was a tricky day as it was very windy.  The highlight our round though was getting to watch our caddies, Dermot and Ronan each hit a shot on the 17th.  Ronan managed to keep it dry but only just as he was on the walkway, Dermot hit a great shot to about 7 feet, a couple of feet too much though.  After the round Shane and myself had a few chipping and putting competitions, which is the best form of practice, especially when you win!

I am very happy with how I have hit the ball over the two days.  The work I have done has definitely helped my long game and my chipping and bunker play is getting back to the good old days.  I'm looking forward to playing and seeing how it all holds up in a tournament situation.  I like the course and have had very good weeks here but that was before they made changes a few years ago, since then I have performed poorly.  This would be a good week to change that.

I am playing early and late with Graeme McDowell and Ryan Palmer.  It's a good draw as they are both nice guys and the forecast is for some wind in the afternoon in the first round.

Talk soon,

Padraig.

Is Reed's wife no longer caddying for him?  It looks like she was helping with mapping the greens.  I didn't see her on the bag in the last tournament.

Her brother has caddied for him since early last season as she was pregnant. Don't think she's been on the bag since and probably won't; he's done well with the kid.

Maybe this has been touched on but I think the tee times this week are a pretty good gauge on the changing times. Tiger and Phil were ALWAYS on opposite sides of the draw, in order to drum up the Thurs/Fri TV audience, I assumed. This week, they're together with Rors and JSpeed opposite. Dunno, I find it interesting.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
