Hello gang, Is it time to update my Ping Anser 2 putter? It's an 90's era putter with no grooves/inserts. I like the simplicity of the blade style, and just wondering if it's time for grooved/inserts, Ping, of course. Thanks for the input!

If you have a putter that works well for you, don't change a thing. There are tons of great players out there still using old Anser putters.

^ This.  If you like your putter and it's working for you, I wouldn't even think of changing it.  IMO, putters are the most primitive clubs in the bag and are the least affected by advances in technology.

I love old Ping putters. (I have an old Anser and CU5) If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There are people using $2 blade putters that can putt well with them.

I have a B60 Scottsdale TR putter and love it. You can get a TR or Cadence that looks very similar to the original Anser 2. If you're getting the itch for a new putter but want the same look I'd definitely recommend you check out the TR or Cadence line

If your current putter works for you and you're happy with it, keep it.

Last summer I bought my Kenny Giannini G4 and absolutely fell in love. It will be a very long time before I look to swap out my current putter.

    • Day 364: About an hour and a half practice session. Spent most of it at the range. Did a solid 30 minutes of work on my priority piece, with filming. I think it's improving, but will probably check in on Evolvr to make sure. Then spent the last ~20 minutes putting, working mostly on short putts.

    • Day 79 (19 July 25) - Band rehearsal this morning - got home midafternoon, opted to work more with the magnetic alignment tool with the wedges.  Used it to work on face position at the bottom of the swing arc - followed up with easy pitches up to 50yds.  Seeing better face control and over improved accuracy toward target…session was cut short with pop up rain showers.
    • This is a great discussion. Other parts of the course where there are houses have white stakes and signs. This keeps people from trespassing and hitting shots on their property. There is another county road on the east side of the course that does not have white stakes like the hole I described. I checked the score card and there is nothing to indicate these roadways are OB. I think a county drainage ditch would be considered government right-of-way so it is the peoples land 🤣. But you are in the power industry and know more about those sorts of things than me.
