Hi All, New to the forum but hoping I can get some help. 4 of us, 30 year olds, are heading to Kohler in August for our first golf trip, let alone first major! And were pumped! That said, we are staying over in Mishicot for the week and are looking for suggestions on how to plan our wk. we hope to play golf once or twice and will arrive on Tuesday afternoon. What else do we do? We wanna catch some practice Wednesday too. What time do tee times start on Thursday morning? Starting to do some planning and hoping you guys can help me out. Thanks!

What do you guys like to do other than golf? Are you looking for recommendations of places to play as well? I am guessing the Thursday tee times would start at about 7:30am but I am not sure and they will definitely be posted before that day. I was thinking about going to one of the practice rounds but I probably will not end up going.

Yea any recommendations on places to play Tuesday or Wedmesday?

If there is anyway that you can get on the Irish course that week I would.

Otherwise a few very highly ranked courses in the state are out that way:

Blackwolf Run - This is probably the best option but it will book quickly that week I would imagine.

The Bog - The State Am seems to be played here a lot and is another great course.

The Bull at Pinehurst - also supposed to be very nice.

For places close by to visit Sheboygan is a nice place to go to on the lake.

BTW, Welcome to the Site!

    • I actually am toying with playing with a 7- and 9-wood in place of my 3 and 4 hybrids not liking how hybrids hook, my 9 wood would have to be a non-Srixon/Cleveland because I’m not paying XXIO money for a 9-wood.    Hey, the 9-wood might be the modern equivalent, of the Ray Floyd 5-wood at the 1976 Masters, he actually took the 2-iron out and left the 1-iron in when he put the 5-wood in play in the 1976 Masters. The 9-wood might be my answer to question of the long par-three and long par-four second shot I have.
    • Definitely something that could help him keep golf competitions in perspective.
    • Please tell me it was also a vintage MB rather than modern utility iron.
    • I don't have any new video to share but I have experienced some changes physically and with my golf swing that I have to think are going to be beneficial over the long haul. First I dropped almost 50lbs from a high of 223 I was able to get as low as 172 and bounced back up to 179 but I really would like to shed about 15 more to get somewhere in the 160s. Secondly I have noticed something of a habit a bad one at that seems to have gone away. I think since I have decided to throttle down a bit on my swing speed since I'm getting older I noticed I'm not letting go of the club at the top since there is no longer excessive wear on the glove on lower pad below pinky. I'm very hopeful that this is the year I get my game going again with hopefully a new job I'm trying for will give me more opportunity
