Four-ball pairings:

Spieth/Reed vs. Rose/Stenson

Holmes/Moore vs. Garcia/Cabrera-Bello

Snedeker/Koepka vs. Kaymer/Willett

D. Johnson/Kuchar vs. McIroy/Pieters

Can't see the wisdom in holding back Wood and Fitzpatrick. Can't do much worse than the guys this morning.

Rose, Kaymer, and Garcia were all very poor. I'll be surprised if we see Westwood again before Sunday.

Considering what is a stake. Probably about average for Tour Players.

In that case, what kind of time should we expect for the fourball matches? Five and a half?

Fitzpatrick doesn't really have the length for fourball does he? I thought Westwood was on form? On paper that was a very lopsided match and Pieters had first-timer nerves.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Westwood out for one more before singles.

@DaveP043 I would expect 3.5 hours for the foursomes, but it is what it is.

I'll be astounded, and very pleasantly pleased, if they can go around playing four balls in less time than they took while playing only two balls.

Me too, but I was agreeing with you that the pace was a bit slow for the foursomes.

Westwood looked really out of sorts. Tee to green was shocking by his standards, and putting was what we've come to expect I guess. Maybe I'd send him out with Garcia tomorrow morning.

I liked what little of Pieters I saw after a nervy opening couple of holes.

I would not get your hopes up.

Could be more matches on the clock, and pace of play becoming a topic for conflict.  I'd hate to see that over shadow the actual golf.
