It's gonna feel a bit ****ed up flying the Euro flag now.LOL.

:-D:dance::beer:

Not really - whilst it is used as a flag for the EU, it's not actually purely for the member states - hence why the number of stars doesn't change with each membership alteration. Shame Switzerland and Norway can't contribute so we won't feel like we have to defend ourselves every minute! Such a shame - never give the people a choice :-(

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

What's in the bag: Callaway X2 Hot Driver, Titleist 915F 3 wood, X2 Hot 3 Hybrid, 3, 5-AW Apex Pro irons, 54*, 58* Cleveland RTX, Odyssey Versa 1 Putter

If he finishes strong tomorrow, does he suddenly enter the discussion as a captain's pick for Team USA?

I'd like to know what the odds are that some golf reporter will ask any of the players if they have any concerns about the Zika Virus which has been found in Minnesota? I could guess their might be some stammering responses, or just walking away from the interview.

The only guy on that list id trust to drain a putt for me is Spieth. Not too good.

This is definitely setting up nicely for the US this year.

Rory can't putt. Poulter is injured. Rose battled some injuries as well. Stenson is really the only Euro in top form right now.

Apart from this past week's outlier, DJ is obviously locked in nicely. Koepka and Walker are putting pressure on DL3. Phil playing well. Rickie and Jordan had nice weeks. Brandt is playing well, and even Bubba relatively.

After the PGA,Jimmy Walker and Brooks Koepka have risen to positions 4 and 5 respectively.Bubba and Kuchar drop out of the top 8.

No changes in the Euro team except for Tyrrel Hatton coming into the "captains pick"category.

Westwood will need a captains pick from Darren Clarke.

Jim Furyk is really pushing for a place in the US team.

No Laying Up had a good article on why Jim Furyk should not be allowed on the Ryder Cup team: http://nolayingup.com/2016/08/20/case-jim-furyk-2016-us-ryder-cup-team/

Quote

This has been well documented, but Furyk’s “experience” with the Ryder Cup has been a disastrous one. He’s been a part of every team since 1997, over which the US is sporting a 2-7 record. I’m for sure not saying the he is the one to blame for the American futility, but Furyk’s record in those events is a stunning 10-20-4 (with a hilarious 2-8-1 record in fourball). Ignoring the ties, he’s winning his matches at a 33% clip, which is a worse percentage than the New York Knicks had in 2015-2016, and they finished 13th out of 15 teams in the Eastern Conference. The Braves are an MLB worst 44-78, which is still a better winning percentage (.361) than Jimmy boy in the stars and stripes!

Furyk’s point percentage (points scored divided by matches played, is an incomprehensible 32.3%, which is 5th worst all time of all US players that have played in at least six matches (63 players qualified, better than only Mark O’Meara, Ben Crenshaw, Chris Dimarco, and Miller Barber). Factor in that only seven guys have played in more Ryder Cup matches than Furyk has and you can easily see the depth of the impact that one of the worst Ryder Cuppers of all time has had on the nine teams that he has been apart of.

His record is abysmal. He'll probably still make the team because Davis Love knows him and is comfortable with him. And I will point to his pick as a reason the American team sucks in this event year after year.

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

    • Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
