I wonder if we'll still be hearing from Tiger, "I'm really close." Like Azinger said, I guess a sign that things are bad is when he finishes 32nd in a poor field at The Greenbrier and he was happy.

I only gave a quick look just now, but it appears NOBODY picked Bubba Watson in the prediction contest. Yes, the Open might not be his best tournament, but he is a top 5 player who has won recently and has made the cut 3 of the last 4 Opens he has played (finishing in the top 32 all 3 times). In short, I like him a lot better than say Todd Hamilton and many of the other 2nd and 3rd choices people made. Wished I had bothered to look more closely at all the picks when I made my selection.

Bubba Watson? He's nowhere even near the lead? People look like they were smart not to pick him.

Tiger Woods is the 241st ranked player in the world, guys, and he's playing like it. Rankings don't lie.

Actually they do for players who don't play very much - the 40 round minimum denominator can be very misleading.

Without that Tiger would be about 140th....it is much more misleading as players start their careers and are rising up through the rankings (see Jordan Spieth circa 2013), and watch how quickly Rory will fall if he misses enough tournaments that he falls below 40 events.

Players play, tough players win!

ESPN's coverage is kinda boring. Azinger puts me to sleep.

Way better than theopen.com's "live coverage".... two no-name talking heads showing zero golf is not going to get me through my work day.

Watch ESPN has the international (I think it's the BBC) feed. I've been watching that, except with the sound off. They're showing a lot of a couple of groups, but I like the coverage.

I haven't started watching the coverage yet, but I still like Bubba over John Daly, SIR Nic, etc.

Just for that I hope he's in contention on Sunday. I would love to see Daly win this Open. :-P

Poor Rose and Fowler, having to drag Faldo around all day.

Considering he was the finest British golfer of his generation, and he's rumoured to be playing his final British Open (a tournament he won three times), I think he has every right to be out there. His playing partners have nothing to complain about (and I suspect they are not).
