Today I played South Hills in Hanover PA & had a less than stellar round. Many thanks to Jerry & Scott who I was paired with for their patience & encouragement. To future partners I promise I'll keep working on my fundamentals to make the next outing less painful.

Wow South Hills is like 3mins from me... Actually going out there tomorrow (Sunday) around 4 to play 9 holes with 2 of my buddies. I think I've spoken to you before on here. Have you played Hickory Heights (over in Spring Grove).... I love heir sister course down in Hampstead (Oakmont Green)... Anyways. I'm always looking for people to play a round with during the week (my work schedule permits a lot of weekly rounds) so if your ever in need or what to play and need 1 let me know.       Eh. You're tricking yourself. You can still miss right or left, and what you've created is a situation where you HAVE to miss (but the right amount) to make the putt. That's not for me.

      I can see a point in this.  If you play a straigth 3 footer with a square face aiming at the hole, you can miss both ways, with a close face or an open one. If you aim rigth an close the face at impact (like tiger used to do), physically you can still miss left or rigth but mentally you are only missing left (closed face) and having only 1 miss can give you a boost in confidence. I putt this way on fade putts and aim left and open the face on draw putts, never liked the uncerteinty of putting square to the target.  I apply something like this on approach shots, only use low or high shots and for middle shots I use a low shot with more loft ot a high shot with less loft. This shots are always what they meat low or high, a middle one can go a little towards the high and the low depending on the AoA of each shot making it mentally a little more uncertain what is going to be.
