OK so I have two questions. One. I recently moved from off brand iron cast and quite large to call x tour forged. I'm having issues hitting. When I do connect it puts a smile to my face. Is it just practice to get to where I used to be? Also I only have the x tour PW and a cheap pinemeadow 60*. When I get the 60 working its money but I'm like 50% confident with it. I work on it a lot but not seeing improvement. Should I add a wedge? What degree? Or any drills or tips to perfect my short game?

Ideally you would be better suited with a Game Improvement iron. Forged/Blades are harder to hit because they are less forgiving and have a smaller sweet spot. Based on your HC index, the irons are going to be tough for you. Tips would be to post a thread in the Member Swing area and learn to swing more on plane in order to maximize your chances of hitting the sweet spot.

I played Callaway X20 and X20 Tour irons for awhile. Also, I tested the follow-on Callaway iron models.

Just for fun I had tried the 2007 and 2010 X Forged irons - about half the shots only got about 10 feet off the ground. The stiff shafts and low-launch heads were not for my game.

in 2012, a new version of X Forged came out with the RazrX iron family. To my surprise, I could get a decent launch from the new X Forged; however, I got about + 15 yards from the RaxrX model.

, As per @xilez , you're finding the XForged is less forgiving and has a smaller sweet spot than GI irons.

As for wedges, you might take a short-game lesson and select a wedge swing plan. As for G, S and L, you could save money if you got matching wedges from Callaway or Cleveland from models a couple of years back.

The 60º may give you problems until you get a more consistent short-game swing. (Hint: a good pro can show you a couple of LW secrets to help you out).

Thanks. I'm gonna give them a try for the rest of the season. Work daily or close lol. got some advice from others. And my HCP has changed drastically and the only thing holding me down is putting. Thanks I'll post in the other area for swing tips. And there are no pros in my area or even people that offer lessons. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

    • Signs of life with my golf game. Ugly double at 1.... then made 7/8 pars and the only bogey was a 3 putt where I missed a short one. Otherwise I played those last 8 holes hitting 5/8 and 3 for 3 on saves. I want the first hole back tho. Regardless left the course feeling good  and to top it off my league partner took the night off with bad reaction to his vaccine so I was playing by myself and earned us 2nd place points for the week.
    • Maybe Tiger is part of the problem. He set an unprecedented bar height and every promising talent since has been compared to him, but the reality is that Tiger is the anomaly. Every other professional golfer has a larger variation in their performances, and that is the norm. Rory emerged in a time after Tiger had dominated and when he showed his talent, a lot of people expected him to contend with Tiger. When he fell short, the word «overrated» was thrown into the discussion. He could beat Tiger and everyone else, just not as frequently as Tiger. @measureoffsetinnm Yes. If we compare Rory to every other golfer not named Tiger, he is one of the best. Look at Spieth, Koepka, DJ, JT etc. They got periods of greatness and periods of less than great play.
    • Can anyone tell me how good/bad these Red golf balls are, I've seen them for sale on eBay and thinking of trying them. Cheers
    • Really appreciate your reply, now I will try that as I know it's worked for you. I'm hoping it works as well for him, cheers...
    • So is it that our expectations are unrealistic?
