Is Spieth done? I am starting to wonder about his game atm. Seems like he can't buy a round in the 60's all of a sudden. I am starting to think he is done for the season...

Easy answer. No hes not done.Hes more than likely worn out from playing pretty much every week.Jimmy walker is another that comes to mind as is Reed. These young guys need to learn how to pace themselves.Playing every week will wear you down. You really only get one day off and thats monday but you still got to travel.

I think we're getting ahead of ourselves here. Anything less than perfection and we're already prepared to move on?

He's just in a slump, I think. Dude put a lot of work in this summer, and even as good as he is he's still probably adjusting to all the travel and whatnot. I haven't looked at the numbers but I'd bet those video game-esque putting stats from 15-25 feet have shrunk a bit, if I had to pick a reason for his recent struggles.

Next on the line we have Valleygolfer from The Valley, New Hampshire.  He has a scorching hot take on Jordan Spieth.  You're on the air, Valleygolfer:

I don't understand threads like this. He's had three bad rounds, is he suppose to shoot 66 every time he tees it up? Golf is hard.

I'm kind of hoping the OP is having some trolling fun.

As are some of your responses. Spieth appears to be playing fatigued to me. Injuries and fatigue can takes their toll.

Seems to me he worked this season to peak in the majors and these events just don't mean as much to him. He's 22 so I doubt he's physically fatigued, in fact, he's shown the more he plays the better he gets. Mentally, I think he's having a hard time getting into a zone.

Maybe not the 60's but at least par in one of the rounds and making the cut considering his performance this year. It would be frustrating to have another David Duval again...

I agree with that fatigue is probably playing a little bit of a role right now. He put a lot of energy not just into the Grand Slam and at the end trying to win that 3rd major, but also to try and rise to #1. Sometimes we forget he's only 22 and he hasn't been on Tour very long. I think this two-week break will do him good and I expect him to finish strong. I think people expect him to contend for a win every week because he's been doing it every week for the last year (outside of the Players), so when he actually has an off-week, it sends shockwaves throughout the country.

Gimme a break...the dude is exhausted after one of the best major runs in golf history. It's natural to have a mental hangover effect after the run he's had and as much as they try to make them relevant, the bottom line is the playoffs simply don't mean that much and are hard to get psyched up about for someone in Jordan's shoes.

Every golfer has his streaks, and then tires. Jordan is human, and young. Fatigue, fame, attention, media suck the life out of you. Think he will be a force for a long time. His swing does not look as if it will injure him. I can't say the same for Jason Day or Rory ... I think their swings will lead them to more of a roller coaster ride.

Jordan has his head on straight, just needs rest, and get away from the life sucking forces surrounding him.

Or as Trump would say, "Disaster. Can you believe this kid? Wouldn't hire him as my caddie. Don't misunderstand me, love Jordan, great kid, amazing player, but the last week was a disaster. The last 2 majors... pitiful! I'd send him to Mexico in exchange for some brick layers and landscapers, but right now, Mexico wouldn't go for it. No way, kid can't hit driver out of his shadow, and putt? He is lipping worse than Monica, and yes, I have sampled those goods. Had to ... I want to be President, gotta see the benefits. Amazing, hired some Mexicans, legal I'm sure, to build an Oval Office with closet at Trump Towers. But it's amazing! Not like that 200 yr old slum they call the White House. That comes down when I'm in. It will have gold inlaid walls, tell ya' I'll sell tickets and make a profit, pay off the debt. Will make the Chinese send a million or so people to go through and charge them extra. Tell ya' what, I'll redesign it, just like I redesigned Doral -- no big hitter will dominate there.... Oh, Jordan? Great kid, amazing, but he's from Texas, probably packin', good for him. That's the problem, too much weight in his left pocket, can't turn. Too much steel in that handgun. I use a 3d printer for my firearms - light, and I'm an amazing shot -- only need one shot."

I voted "NO". Spieth is not done, and will win some more tournaments, and probably even a few more majors. He's has a bunch of money in the bank, and has simply lost some focus. Perhaps there is something in his personal life, (that is none of our business) that has put a damper on his game. Perhaps, Day is just playing lights out golf right now, but will eventually stumble at some later date, allowing Spieth to return to playing  winning golf.  Perhaps Spieth is happy that Day has moved the spotlight away from him, and is just enjoying the fruits of his previous play.

No big deal.

No. The only problem I see is people have unrealistic expectations. These guys win a few big events and the media starts declaring they are the new Tiger penciling them in to win the next 100 events. They miss a cut, someone else wins and they are the new buzz. It's silly. Nobody can live up to the hype.
