What'd You Shoot Today?

This is absurd, but today I scored my third hole in one since October.

Same hole, same club, but different ball.

Getting embarrassing.

My driver and 3 wood got sick lately and i decided to play my rounds with only irons

So the longest club i play was a 3 Iron and i shot like 10 over on par 72  6500 yards course.

The long par 4 ( > 380 yards to 444 Yards ) are the tough ones...

The second straight year of my new Christmas tradition - nine holes at Winter Park Golf Club. Shot one-under 34 including two chip-ins. Made a 6-footer for birdie on the last hole.

Not bad for my first round in over a month.

Had a lazy 9 holes today and shot 43 on a par 34 course.

2 pars and 1 birdie and managed to hit the fairway and greens in regulation for these three holes!

Biggest improvement was putting with only one three putt hole, four two putt holes and four 1 putt holes. Probably the first time Ive had less than 20 putts in a round of golf for this rank beginner :)

Just ducked out for a quick 9 holes after work.

Decided to take onboard some tips ive read off these forums to help with driving accuracy and boy i wish i slowed my drive swing down a bit more often.

Ending up hitting the ball only 10-15m shorter but far, far straighter. Even into a headwind which is a massive new logic to me haha.

Ended up shooting 5 over par for 9 holes which is very efficient for me just getting back into the swing of things.

Cant wait to knock out a full round tomorrow after work

Last 3 days where very windy 30mph I shot 76,81,81, today no wind and shot 73 putting was very good on tough greens, tree line course. Today I used a modified stack and tilt swing with weight stay 50/50 and no early pop up, it really felt good. I have so many swings who know what I will use the weekend.  But that's what makes my game fun I never stay with one swing to long unless I'm playing for money.

Played 9 holes at Farmville Golf and Country Club in Farmville NC yesterday.  Teed off at 9am with no wind and 40 deg temps.  Shot a 48 and had a blast!

Just shot a 78 (10 over) on a rather windy course which was great. Managed a few pars and a birdie on the back 9 with the wind to keep things in check. FIR was up around 50-60% which on a windy day is good for me. The goal of a single digit handicap certainly looks achievable.

First time out in over three months (since I had ankle surgery).

Shot 85 -- pretty pleased with that.

Got a birdie, seven pars, seven bogeys, a double, and two triples.

Missed a bunch of fairways.

Best of all, I finished the round pain free!  (Walked the front nine, took a cart for the back nine.)

Shot 78 with 38 putts. Driver was on and only missed 3 fairways. I wish I had 18 on video. Par 5 into the wind, killed my drive(soft cut) dead center 200 yards out. Flushed a 4 iron( another soft cut) laser to 8 feet. Lipped out the Eagle putt tapped in the birdie. Thing of beauty.

Last Friday I played at Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas and shot my best round to date, a 92. It was 11 under my handicap par of 103. !!! I only hit 3 greens. I can't imagine what my score could have been with my GIRs.

Shot 45-46 at Legends Moorland. 1 Birdie, 6 pars, plenty of "others". The greens were annoyingly fast, and the pin placements were absurd. This course has some ridiculous undulations in its greens. Four 3-putts and a 4-putt along with 71% fairways hit. Playing Grande Dunes Resort Course tomorrow, and then the Dunes Club (Golf Digest #52 Public Course 2013) on Tuesday. Hopefully I can manage a couple scores in the low 80's.

    • Agree. The next omission needs to be that ridiculous team concept. Nobody cares about a team when they really don’t represent anything except being a group of diminished morality and/or washed up pro golfers. Or wait, we’ve also got total nobodies who’ve accomplished nothing who now get a participation trophy! Doesn’t that sound invigorating!
    • LIV moving to 72 holes is a subtle admission that 54 holes was nothing but a joke all along.
    • I was going to start a thread, but this seems like the place.  Yesterday I played my matchplay match at my local club.  My opponent is a notorious sandbagger by reputation.  The pro once pulled his tournament rounds from the past several years and said that it is impossible his tournament rounds are legit based on his handicap. here is what happened last night.  I am getting 4 shots from him.  His current handicap index is 15.3 i shot 45 on the front.   Was down 4 after nine, he had three birdies and shot even par. I was closed out on thirteen, we halved with a bogey.  That bogey put him one over par for his round.   He then took a triple on 14 and then left. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he lied about his score.   I wrote down on my scorecard what the score was.  He put higher values that didn’t affect the outcome of the match to pad his score and apparently make it not look as obvious.   He shot 36 on the front, but claimed 40.  The higher values for his score were in the online scoring app our club uses.  He did it this way: I won #7. He had a 2 foot putt for par that if he made would still lose the hole.   He picked up and said it didn’t matter since I won.  He took a 5 instead of a 4 after picking up a gimme. on #8 his approach shot on this par 4 was 8 inches.  I verbally conceded the putt but I had hit into a hazard.  I finished the hole with a 6.  Instead of birdie he put in for par. on #9, another par 4, his approach was to 18 inches.  I missed my par putt and then knowing how close I verbally conceded the putt.  I missed my bogey putt, he never conceded mine.  Instead of birdie he put down a bogey. He padded his score by 4 shots on the front.  And then did again on 10.  I rinsed one and made 6 on a par 4.  I putted out and he was fishing balls out of the lake so I drove off to the next tee.  He had 15 feet laying two but claimed a 5.     love to know the odds of a 15 handicap being even thru 12 holes on a round of golf.
