Shot 78 at River Forest in Freeport, PA. 41-37

I had two new clubs in the bag, an R11 driver and Rocketballz 3 wood. I have also installed a Lamkin jumbo putter grip to my Ping B60 putter which has made a positive impact on my putting.

(The back nine 37 was okay but a little inflated since I made three long putts.)

I played 11 holes at Stone Canyon this evening before dark.  It was a very strange day because my ball striking was poor, but my misses weren't that bad.  My short game is finally coming around and I capitalized........ 73.2CR 141 slope and I was +1 through 11 holes.

What's in Paul's Bag:
- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Driver
- Big Bertha Alpha 815 3-wood
- Callaway Razr Fit 5-wood
- Callaway Big Bertha 4-5 Rescue Clubs
-- Mizuno Mx-25 six iron-gap wedge
- Mizuno Mp-T4 56degree SW
- Mizuno Mp-T11 60degree SW
- Putter- Ping Cadence Ketsch

Shot a 99 today - worst score in a month and a half.  Hit 54% fairways, 34 putts (avg. 1.8 per hole), 4 penalty strokes.  It's frustrating how you can go out one day and feel like things are starting to click, then the next day shoot like you've never touched a golf club in your life before.  I guess the only consolation I can take is that a "bad day" for me used to be in the 110 range - now a "bad day" is still under 100.

Finally he hit his 10th shot over the green, chipped on for 11 and putted out for a 12. When he was later asked how he made 12, he reportedly quipped,  "I missed a 15-footer for an 11."

The weather has FINALLY started to cooperate here in Southern Ontario.  My [new] home course opened up yesterday at noon and I was able to go out today and play.  They had a 10 hole temporary layout open (out of 27 holes).  I didn't bother to keep score but I hit 3 or 4 pars which is more than I thought I'd be able to do.  I decided to play it safe and use my 3H off the tee, managed to hit every fairway but had a little distance control issue getting onto the greens.  My putting was much better than I expected after a winter on the simulator.

All in all it felt amazing to be out there after such a long winter!  Tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer so I'll probably go and play 20 holes (seems odd to say that).

50 - 2 FIRS, 1 GIR, 1 par, 3 bogeys, 4 double bogeys, 18 putts (1x1 putt, 7x2 putt, 1x3 putt) and one lost ball!

49 - 1 FIR, 1 par, 3 bogeys, 5 double bogeys, 17 putts (3x1 putt, 4x2 putts, 2x3 putts) and one lost ball!

99 - 28 over par (par 71)

- Played in my first ever competition (stableford) today and scored 34 points :)

- Played off the white tees instead of yellows (6310 instead of 5970) for the first time.

- Didnt get off to a great start as I lost a ball on the first hole! On the plus side I played the next 15 before losing another!

- On the 4th hole par 3 (SI1) I walked away with my first ever par for this hole (and 5 points!)

- My putting was on fire for 15 holes HOWEVER I committed the school boy of school boy errors on the 17th when my putter touched the ball while I was setting up!!! So a definite two putt turned in to a dirty three putt!!!!

- On the plus side this is the first time I've ever had less than 36 putts in a round :)

- The four one putts is a new round record for me :)

- FINALLY played a round where the temperature was nudging double digits! A couple times there the temp got up to 9 degrees and I had to take my woollen hat off! :)

- Probably the biggest take away from todays round was the lesson on the rules I (and my playing partners) received from a veritable walking encyclopaedia :) It was illuminating and enjoyable to say the least (as the tips were given in good humour:)

Regards

Shot a 97 on a par 72.  Third time I've ever scored under 100.  It was my first time out this year.  One par on the front nine, and only two holes on the front were horrible, a six on a par three (horrible chipping) and an 8 on a par 5.  I shot par on three holes... which at my level makes me happy.  I was also happy with this round because there was a good amount of wind today.

In my bag:
Driver - Diablo Octane 10.5*
Fairway Wood - Diablo Octane 15*
Hybrid -  Edge 21*
Irons - X20's 4I - 9I
Wedges - X20's PW/SW
Putter - White Ice 1
Ball - Warbird

Played great most of the day.  Putts were a little deceiving because I didn't hit a single GIR.  Tee shots were not as bad as it looks.  Most of the tee shots were just off of the fairway.  My best drive of the day was a 230 yard 3W into a fairway bunker dead in the middle of the fairway on hole 7.  Usually I am about 15-20 yards short of it, but today hit it good.  Ended up with a triple because I can't hit out of a fairway bunker.  The worst part of the round was the final 6 holes, 4 doubles, and 1 triple. Overall I was pleased with my round and starting to figure my swing out.

81 at Eisenhower Park, The Blue Course. I played an amazing round with the exception of three doubles given the cold and wind on the back 9 which was dead in your face.

Had the 79 in sights, but just couldn't get away from my nemesis hole #16 and had my final double of the day. That hole taunts me.

Played my home course today in Comfort Texas. Shot 77

Have been struggling recently with hooks/pulls(missing a lot of greens), dusted off my old set of Ping G2's for this round and got my mojo working again.

Putting left a lot to be desired, but I was more pleased with seeing my iron play straightened out.

Shot of the day came on the par 5, 16th hole. Hit a good drive into the wind, leaving meat 247 out, honestly didn't think I could get there in 2 with the wind, but caught the 3wood flush and straight with the ball landing on the front third of the green with an uphill, right to left 20 footer. Gave it a good run and ended up with a tap in birdie. Which seemed fitting considering all the 2 putts I had throughout the round.

shot a 72, pretty erratic golfing today, but haven't played in about 3 weeks now. 5 birdies, 3 bogeys, and 1 double bogey. with all the up and downs in my score i break even.  once i start playing consistently i will reduce or climate those bogeys.

All puts in is the only way i play. even if it is a gimme, I'm still putting it.

Shot a 45 on a par 34 9 hole course. Vassar College. Pretty dissapointing considering I shot 38 on the same course yesterday.

Took a triple after losing my first ball on one par 4. Doubled a par 3.

Wish I was more consistent but its early in the season I guess.
