87, a decent score.   Started out poorly with two triples but recovered with lots of pars the rest of the way.   Perseverance!

100 (71/135). Not a good score, and didn’t really hit the ball consistently well all day. But I fought hard and actually had a decent score going until the last 4 holes. Fell apart.

An 87 today.  That's 5 straight rounds in 80s which I think may be my longest such streak.   This is the last round I will play in 2018 and I finished the year playing my best golf ever.  Nine years of playing golf and I can't believe I am still improving.   Am looking forward to my next round in 2019.  Happy new year to you all!

Shot 92 today (72 nett) for even my handicap and beat my 3 single hdcp friends who all shots 5+ over their daily hdcp :). The 6 hdcp friend who hasn't golfed in 8 months played 22 strokes over (he got 2-3 birdies, and eagle putts as expected, but he's also got a few double pars :D)

85 (+14) at my home course today, despite 4x6 (two par-5 bogeys, two par-4 doubles) and a 7 (a par-4 triple).

Funny day today. Youngest Granddaughter wanted to go "hang with G-Pa" at the golf course.

So we played 9 nine holes. The big deal for her was I let her drive the cart.

To be honest, I have no idea what my (ours')  scores were. I know I had 6 pars, and no 6s. G-Daughter did make a long 15' foot putt, which made her day. Cost me a trip to Mc D's for ice cream.

Still, driving the cart was her happy program for the day. 14 years old and in charge......lol

lIt's the Holliday Season. G-Kids rule.

Saturday had a 96 on my home par 67.  Three pars, four bogeys.  Best part was I hit 7 of 11 fairways, which, as I have been struggling with a severe slice was a victory,  I think I have it figured out finally.  35 total putts, 20 on front(2 three putts, not good) 15 on the back. Looking forward to lowering my handicap in 2019.  The goal is to get to 18.

73 today. 2 birdies, 14 pars, a bogey and a double. Just kept saying to myself, fairways and greens, fairways and greens. Smart golf for a change.

66 today, one of those rare days where golf felt easy. Was never in any real danger of making a bogey, ball was basically going where I was aiming it and distance control was great. Left a few birdie putts short but putting was solid, made all the 3-6 footers I "should" make.

Last round of 2018 today.  December has been milder than usual with the temperature today hitting 55 degrees.

Shot 76, which looks better than it really was (66.9/120).  The course is very short.  Conditions in December are always a bit rough.  Really soggy fairways and furry greens but it was a blast.  I wanted to play all three nines but I was a touch fatigued from walking yesterday and today and the other nine was packed with players getting a last round in, too.

    • You might want to try a can of Bar Keepers Friend. Yes, it is abrasive, so just wet a sponge and dab it on. It has oxalic acid (no bleach like "Comet" kitchen cleanser), and it works wonders on stainless steel and other metals. Try it on a small area first to see what happens.
    • Fair   My uneducated thought: the big miss is the penalty area. If you want to optimize score, missing into the bunker (likely 5) is better than missing right into the penalty (possible 6). With that, your strategy seems sound and if you hit a committed shot, you get a bunker 5% of the time, take your medicine and hopefully get a putt for par but accept bogey. You may find yourself in a penalty situation 2-3% of the time and accept the associated outcome. The vast majority of the time though you are giving yourself a good approach shot into the green.
    • I walk 30 mins a day on my lunch break. It is not very intense (since i dont want to get sweaty in my work clothes), so just a touch above leisurely. 3 days a week I walk on the treadmill for 60 mins. I alternate the incline from 4 to 10 for a couple minutes, once every ten minutes. I lift my kettlebells nearly everyday. I have a couple complex routines. I find just 15 minutes and my heart rates is elevated
