What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

Ok so I'm at the NJGC National Championship yesterday and CATCH THE SHANKS! Everything going out right... Shot 98. Worst in years... So today I came out in the last round this morning and shot a decent 83. Really tough course. Still don't know what place I came in, but i know it wasn't last!

Favorite Ball: Srixon Z Star X

I played with a new ball, today and may have been the worst ball, ever. That said, I shot an 84 that could have been a lot better. I've never seen a ball incapable of holding greens.

Last night, I shot 3 under par 33. Driving sucked but was sticking my irons and wedges. Also made everything within 10 ft on the green. No bogies and three birdies.

I intended to play 18 yesterday morning, but I ended up playing 9 instead. I started on the back nine because the course was pretty packed at 6:45AM. I shot a 39, got some confidence back for this week, and headed to the house. It was one of my more solid nines of the year.

I hit 5 out of 6 fairways and 7 out of 9 greens in regulation. I had a shaky double bogey on the par-3 12th, but other than that, it was a very easy three-over par 39. Hopefully that will carry over to this week in Pennsylvania.
Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

What I shot yesterday - 88 [48-40] - included 1 birdie, 7 pars, 7 bogeys, 1 double-bogey, 1 triple-bogey & 1 quintuple-bogey ten.

Of course the 88 was posted as 85 due to the 10 becoming an ESC 7.

With Bo Derek 10 is perfect but in golf 10 is pretty much the opposite of perfect.

I would like to report a score but hurricane Gustov has kept me off the course since last week. But maybe tomorrow, looking better.

Shot 85 playing by myself in 2 hours, 45 minutes. Couldn't buy a putt; missed birdie putts of 4 and 6 feet as well as a few more at 8 or 10 feet. Still dropped my handicap by almost a stroke.

47 for 9 this morning. Started badly, but managed to make some adjustments and managed 2 pars. Came .5" from my first birdie. 7' Birdie putt skimmed the lip and ended up 2' behind the hole... so close.

Somehow I push-fade the ball badly on the course, but not on the range. Once I adjusted my grip everything fell into place. I also still need to remember that my course balls add 10 yards to every club compared to the range. I overflew a 155 hole by almost 10 yards with a 7I. I normally hit that about 145 on the range.

2 pars, 4 bogeys, 2 doubles and a triple.

Finally put a decent round together. Not my best score but I hit the ball as solidly as I have all year. Played here http://www.coyotegolfclub.com/index.html with my father-in-law (8 hdcp), uncle-in-law (20 hdcp), and brother-in-law (35+ hdcp). Played solid from tee to green on the front and shot 37 (3 bogies and 2 birdies). Tripled #11 and wound up shooting 37 on the back (capped off with a 40 foot eagle on #18). Too bad the golf season is almost over. Oh well, hunting season starts up next month

Shot an 85 at a private club near my house. This is the first time I've played a round there (I played in a scramble there earlier this year).

Playing again on Sunday at another course nearby. We got a rain check from last weekend when we couldn't finish our round. Which really sucked since I was 2 over after 6 holes. But we were on the green and lightning hit less than a mile from us (simultaneous lightning and thunder). We dropped our putters and ran to the carts to get out of there. I wanted to go back and finish the round. My buddies told me that I'd be playing alone because they sure as hell weren't going back. Is that a sign of addiction when you're willing to sacrifice your life to play golf?

My ball striking the last 5 rounds is as good as its ever been. I played a shorter, target-golf course yesterday after work. Accuracy is a premium there (only used driver on 1 hole). The Links @ Whitmore Lake only plays to 6200 yds or so but it is a very fun track. Shot 75 (par 71) but hit 15 greens. Too many putts….seems to be the story of my season
