Is anyone watching the Volvo Masters? Due to the fact that there aren't many golf events around at this time of year it seems quite enjoyable to watch. What made it better is that englisman Justin Rose scored an ace on the par 3 third .

Apparently there is a big controversy with some big names not playing like Ernie Els. He claims the tour should know what his prior commitments were and should have scheduled the Volvo around his schedule.

Justin holed out on the third hole? :-o Impressive. I saw him, when he came to portugal 3 weeks ago to play the Portugal Masters. He has a great swing!

Mr. Rose appears to be in the midst of really breaking out now. I know he hasn't won much, yet, but it appears that he's going to change that in the very near future. I see a great jacket possibly in his future.

My impression was that he said that after being criticized for not showing up. A lot of media and players were saying he should have been there but he had a 3 year contract to play in Asian which he chose to honor. I think he meant that if people wanted to claim that it was so important for him to be there, then they should make sure he's not scheduled to appear somewhere else already.

Well...European Tour were the one who screw themselves. The tournament els attend instead is the Barclays Singapore Open. The date of that tournament were announced by Asian Tour on 23 May 2006 however the date of the Volvo Masters were only announced by European Tour 6 months later. European Tour has been blaming here and there but who is the bully who arrange event in India and Korea who I believe it is in ASIA without the involvement of the Asian Tour. Give them some credit, after all they managed to project themselves as a victim. Wow. Impressive. I agree with Angel Cabrera comment to the press, Players should have their own right to decide which tournament they want to play in. Singapore Open isn't a small tournament, it is the flagship event for the Asian Tour with this year the additional appearance of Mickelson, K J Choi to the list of Westwood, Els, Cabrera and Adam Scott. Both tournament have their loses, Volvo Master have no Westwood, Els, Cabrera (who qualify for the Volvo Master), Singapore Open in return lose the appearance of some talented Asian players who chose to appear in Volvo Masters instead, Garcia and Harrington. What I sick of is the constant negative remark thrown at Els and the rest of the European players, move on and hopefully this sh*t would not happen the next year again as both tournament should be the tournament that no one shld miss.

    • Going to a Friendsgiving tomorrow and I am bringing a no-bake cheesecake. I make the crust too big, but I think it turned out good. The filling is really good.
    • Sure, but how was your alignment? 🙂 Day 53 - 2024-11-22 Mirror work after getting back home. Wife is a superstar for her career/job/whatever.
    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
