so Golf season just ended but i've still been goin to the driving range weekly, and at the begining of the season i used to hit a perfect little draw right down the middle with all of my clubs, and now since the season ended, i've been hitting a fade with all of my clubs. Here is a video, but sorry for the low quality it was a cell phone.

You are shifting your weight to the outside of your right foot and your are coming a little over the top. It looks like you should be keeping your weight on the inside of your right foot and try to bring your swing plane a little more inside out. I think by shifting your weight to the ourside of your right foot, you are prmoting a little shift of your hips to the right, which is not good and often causes a slice.

try this, when you begin you takeaway start with a small forward press. from your video it looks like you are taking your hands back without moving the clubhead.then you are quickly snapping the club to catch up with your hands and arms. this will leave the clubface open every time. just a thought.

alright thanks! i'll try to do this as soon as i go back to the range

i think your using your hands to soon in the down swing remember to turn your hips then torso towards the target first. If you turn your body befor your hands it keeps the club on plane you are probably tipping the club up a bit steep on the top of the back swing. ONE more thing keep ya right knee a bit more flexed. check out a swing video of sergio garcia on you tube watch his hips move first this will give you an idea of what im saying .

hope this helps

When you are slicing the ball, the first thing to fix is the clubface.

That will actually make him worse.

He is leaving the clubface open and sliding.

I t should help as it promotes a flatter swing plane.

Yes he is sliding a bit as well remember to conentrate on turning the body through the ball . the Garcia Video Link should explain the hip action torso then hands. sergio is almost at the target before he starts to bring his hands through . the player will only cut across the ball if he leaves his shoulder open. which is different to turning them through.

He's not real upright. It's a camera phone and a little hard to see clearly, but his downswing seems to be right on the Tilted Shoulder Plane.

One thing I've learned. For Slicers fix the clubface first. For hookers, fix the path/plane first. If you want it, I have a great article I can email you called "Never Slice Again"

The video is so quick, it looks like your getting the hands to high and leading with the hips making you cast the club creating a slice,as you cannot square the face with the hips ahead of the arms.

Sure you can. Most TOUR pros hips are open to the target at impact. I would go even farther, in most good swings the hips are open at impact.

anytime you see your knees dive down and towards your left foot you lose your ability to rotate correctly. This ultimately leads to coming over the top. I would work on building starting your downswing with your hips, not your knees or hands.

I agree. You must initiate your downswing with that lower body. Try to feel like your arms drop naturally...rotate hard with the lower body keeping those shoulders turned. From there you release that right side aggressively and you'll hit a hot draw. I would say exaggerate the feel and hit some big hooks so you know what you need to do to get rid of the slice/fade. From there you can correct yourself if you ever start leaking it to the right on the course. Time to go hit range balls until those hands bleed!

Your swing plane is a little steep resulting in an out-to-in club path.

On the downswing before turning your shoulders, drop the clubhead behind you first this will put it on a shallower plane and if you do it right you will feel the club going to a more inside path on the way down. Also it is hard to see from that angle, but you need to stay behind the ball and turn your hands over (release the club).

Make sure that your left wrist is not 'cupping' at the top of the backswing because that opens the clubface.

I think your elbow is flying out on your back swing a little bit, this makes it very hard to get back to square on your follow through. Try this, on your back swing take your elbows are try and squeeze them together. This will prevent the elbow from flying out and hopefully fix your slice. If not sorry for screwing you up more.
