Making the putt on #72 green at the 2008 Open to force a playoff with Rocco Mediate.

However, I expect my answer to change in the next few years to something that amounts to "winning his fifteenth major," so those of you reading this in 2020, that first sentence might not still be my answer.

@jbishop15 & @Shindig both posted my answers.

The putt at Torrey Pines to force a playoff was extra memorable for me because of the circumstances. I was traveling for business that day and was watching the end of the tournament during a layover at an airport bar in Denver. There had to have been 100 people crowded around the bar as Tiger studied his putt on 18. The bartenders and stopped serving, the general chatter died down. Literally everyone in the place was transfixed on the TV. When Tiger drained the putt, the place erupted in cheers. We all felt like we were witnessing a special moment in history.

Tiger's flop shot at the Memorial was about the only shot I can ever remember where I jumped off my couch in amazement at the result. As Jack later said, to hit that shot, from that lie, onto that green, knowing the what the penalty would be if he missed...... it was just a remarkable golf shot.

The 2000 Canadian Open at Glen Abbey where Tiger hit his shot across the lake with his iron runs it just off the green.  he wins and at that moment held the US the British and the Canadian Open just as Lee Trevino had done a generation before. People still try that shot.

Just an observation:  in over a week, a Tiger thread has only generated 22 posts.  Unheard of even only a year ago.  I think the "era" is over.

This one just for the moment and what Tiger brought to the game of golf. This kind of crowd and atmosphere usually seen at soccer matches, baseball, tennis etc..

This is mine as well.

I didn't see that shot live, but I've watched it zillion times. He was so young then; he hadn't yet gone super stoic and was still capable of really getting into the game with the crowd.

In single moments, I'll ahve to go with the 16th at Augusta in 2005. That shot had it all.

On a larger scale, the 2008 US Open is one of my best memories from golf.

It would be the time in a recent Masters, 2012 or 2013, I forget which one, when he was on the 18th fairway and hit a shot he didn't like and the camera was fixed on this face and I'm thinking the director had better switch cameras, because here comes the F-bomb, and sure enough, he dropped a huge one. It was a priceless moment.

I'll go with the chip in on #16.  Amazing shot .

Although the 6-iron he hit from the sand trap over the water to 18 at the 2000 Canadian Open was pretty awesome, even though the ball didn't stay on the green.

When he was at his best, I could watch him hit the golf ball all day.

When He hit that fairway bunker shot on the last hole of the 2000 Canadian Open I realized that he was somebody really different. I don't think anybody else who ever played would have had the imagination to even attempt it.

The whole Tiger thing is strange to me ... I'm 51 years old, but just took up golf a few years ago.    I missed the whole Tiger in his prime thing (had less than zero interest in golf until I started playing)  ... so I enjoy reading about it.  It's all new to me  !!

I was part of an extremely large gallery following him live at 2000 Canadian open and he was head and shoulders above the other competitors with his power and accuracy.

I think after one generation, the golfers have improve so much since then that Tiger's shot making isn't as big of a gap.

My favorite moment was  a commercial he did for EA sports that just required two takes according to them.

Behind the scenes,

    • I always get adds for "Find your Eastern European Soulmate" I think it's a nifty gadget to have at home. If your going to do a dedicated putting session I could see setting it up. Thanks for sharing.
    • Here's the bet. Assuming the pursuit of a Tour card holds, who wins their first Tour event? Charlie, or this Russell kid? Bet is off if Miles Russell signs with LIV.
    • It seems like too much work for me. I'm actually surprised at myself for spending as much time on this as I already have. Shot Scope tells me my shots to finish with a 7i is 0.1 better than with my 50 or 55 so I'm just going to go with it. Actually, I tend to be the complete opposite. I've never faced a shot I'm convinced I can't hit. It leads to great heroics and complete flops. Conservative for me might just be someone else's normal.
    • Tell me you've not seen Bill play without telling me you've not seen Bill play? 😄 Just teasing @billchao. 😄
    • And like Matt said, and I have hinted at… it's ONE ROUND. Because you have to get hot. Better players than him failed to get through. And… Peaked too soon, perhaps. He could also get injured, get surpassed, lose interest or lose his game… Again, if I trusted y'all to uphold the bet, and if the bet wasn't basically a 15-year proposition… I'd bet y'all. The odds are against him, and heavily so. So… he didn't qualify, and he's playing on a sponsor's exemption. Jordan Spieth was 16 years old when he tied for 16th in a PGA Tour event… and I realize that mentioning Jordan Spieth (who has obviously had a lot of success) seems to argue against my point, but Spieth is the exception and he did better at only a year older than this fella. The odds are strongly against him.
